The family’s upgrades focused on more space, including a pavilion with an outdoor kitchen and dining space, gas fire feature, all while capitalizing on views of the neighborhood retention pond. The plat of survey revealed various easements and locating a structure proved challenging. Consuming the building envelope, a 3-gabled structure was designed with an expanded linear patio. The herringbone paving provides a tile-like vibe, marrying the natural stone to the modern furnishings, including a stainless-steel gas fire feature. With the side yard already disturbed, my clients boldly added privacy plantings along the perimeter during construction, expanding the impact of their investment. What once started as a desire for a larger patio, developed into a showstopping outdoor renovation. Our team has returned to fine tune plant material for additional contrast and fuller beds over the seasons, and it has been a delight to see everything so fully enjoyed.
