A review quite overdue! My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Vaughn Scott of VS Design Group in Calgary last summer for our second new-home build. Our work together started in late July and by early September we had just the fine details to discuss. At that point we were able to resolve the remaining details via e:mail with very prompt responses from Vaughn. Most impressive was Vaughn’s ability to take from our first discussion a front home elevation that we’ve never had to change – we loved the look of our next potential new home. Vaughn is very knowledgeable on our city’s building restrictions and required codes, which allow the design process to move along at a productive pace. He is a creative designer, but at the same time keeps an eye to his client’s budget. He cleverly designed our roofline, which is both interesting and appeasing, while still keeping it affordable. It was very much appreciated to have options given with cost in mind. We always felt that our suggestions or ideas were considered and that feedback was professional and well handled. Vaughn is very approachable. At one point, post the design sign-off, I had a concern on an area that I had been vague about. Vaughn responded immediately to my concerns and offered a couple solutions, one of which was redrawn the next day! Having gone through this process of home design twice now, I would not hesitate to call Vaughn again if I should ever decide to venture on a third!

Vaughn was great to work with. We are renovating an older house and he helped us through the design, taking in our requests and turning them into something practical and attainable. He was a great collaborator and kept us on track with the practical side of both the design and construction. We arrived at a plan we are excited to build. We also had no issues with getting development and building permits as a result of his thoroughness. We decided on incorporating a green roof on top of our detached garage and Vaughn helped us work through the design details required for this innovative construction.

We engaged Vaughn's design services to help us with a new home. Budget was important. We were very pleased with the product Vaughn provided - it helped to take us from a rough idea to an actual home design. Vaughn was polite, respectful and very professional throughout the process and very understanding of our situation. We would certainly invite him to work with us again and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

I've worked with Vaughn for several years and have always found him very professional and knowledgeable. He knows what is required for permits and drawings for the City and my clients always appreciate that as it relieves them of any concerns in that area. He is always willing to modify designs to suit my eye as a designer and discuss design possibilities which makes it easy and enjoyable to work with Vaughn. We'll be embarking on another large project together very soon.

We worked with Vaughn for about a year from start to finish to get the plans done for our full renovation. He was very courteous, worked efficiently and communicated well with us and our designer, and was very thorough in his plans & recommendations so that we were happy with the final plans.

Vaughn has been working with us over the last year on an extensive renovation. His attention to detail, vision and knowledge have been indespensible. Through several revisions (due to our uncertainty regarding what we wanted) Vaughn was a true professional and pleasure to work with. The 3D software he uses is incredible and worked wonders on many occasions when we couldn't visualize off the blueprints. I would highly recommend Vaughn to anyone, his work is impeccable, he takes a vested interest in the project at hand and goes above and beyond for his clients. I can't thank him enough for all he's done for us.

As a fellow co-worker and residential designer, I've known Vaughn for about 20 years. Vaughn's consistency, attention to detail, and vast array of residential projects allows him to provide a quality product for clients. He has made the effort to kept up with the technology in the residential design field by making use of the new 3D software. With his vast experience I would have no problem recommending Vaughn as home designer.

What a great pleasure it was to work with Vaughn. I jumped into the project after Vaughn had produced beautiful architectural drawings. His drawings conveyed a visual representation for the client and I was easily able to work from them as the designer. His designs and ideas are creative, functional and enduring. Vaughn was quick to answer emails and questions and always very personable. I look forward to seeing the finished product! I hope to be able to work with Vaughn again in the near future.

Vaughn designed a garage and loft for us. We changed our minds several times and Vaughn was always professional and accommodating. He made the changes we asked and went above and beyond. He listened to our ideas and created what we wanted. We are still in the design process and can't wait to see the finished design. We highly recommend Vaughn for design work. We have utilized the services of Vaughn Scott on a previous occasion as well with excellent results. He worked with us to create a beautiful 5000SQFT home that encompassed all of our needs. Vaughn was very easy to work with and provided some expert opinions that we considered very valuable. We recently sought out his expertise again to do a major renovation to a small bungalow. A small addition to the front and creating a very desirable roof line from the typical 1955 sloped roof. He was very attentive to our requests as well as the structural design components such as an en-suite, large front entrance and an open concept main floor. Vaugh accomplished this by utilizing existing walls and flush beams to really open up the smaller space. His pre-inspection of the home was accurate and proved very valuable in the design we were after. His attention to what the clients needs is complemented by his personal experience to produce a very high end product.
