Indoors Looking Out
How a Few Giant Windows Can Bring the Outside In
It's the first purely sunny day in ages, and I'm the one under the weather. Go figure. It's days like this when I'm stuck inside, face pressed to the window, that make me wish I had a sunroom. With all that glorious natural light it's about as close as one can get to being outside, while still remaining in the comfort of one's own home.
These sun-drenched spaces get it right with windows on all sides and thoughtfully designed seating areas that let you fully appreciate all the views and sun streaming in. Have a look.

I'm pretty sure an hour or two seated here under the sun's restorative gaze — and with a few cups of tea — would have me ship-shape in no time.

With a good book and that pitcher of lemonade on hand, who would ever want to leave?

I feel sorry for whoever gets relegated to sitting on the black settee in this living area. That poor soul ends up missing out on all this...
... And that's just really not fair.
A day in the office wouldn't feel much like work with magnificent treetop views right past your nose. On second thought, if the weather's gorgeous out this could be a bit like torture. When's quitting time?
A light-filled conservatory makes the perfect spot to enjoy a prolonged sunny Sunday brunch with the newspaper. The exterior is pretty incredible too.
This house has views to die for — along with some wonderful spots to fully appreciate them in. The palette of this blue and white room seems to be inspired by the ocean scenery right outside the windows.
A café table, two comfortable chairs and a sweet view make this quiet corner ripe for an afternoon tête-à-tête.
All the joys of getting back to nature, minus the tent. I can't say I'd be a fan of the simple, exposed window design come six in the morning when the sun's rising, but for the occasional rustic retreat it's just perfect.
