The master suite pulls from this dark bronze pallet. A custom stain was created from the exterior. The exterior mossy bronze-green on the window sashes and shutters was the inspiration for the stain. The walls and ceilings are planks and then for a calming and soothing effect, custom window treatments that are in a dark bronze velvet were added. In the master bath, it feels like an enclosed sleeping porch, The vanity is placed in front of the windows so there is a view out to the lake when getting ready each morning. Custom brass framed mirrors hang over the windows. The vanity is an updated design with random width and depth planks. The hardware is brass and bone. The countertop is lagos azul limestone.

This beautiful home in Westfield, NJ needed a little front porch TLC. Anthony James Master builders came in and secured the structure by replacing the old columns with brand new custom columns. The Yellow Cape Cod decorated for fall. Private residence and design studio styled for fall by Sarah Macklem of TheYellowCapeCod.com
The front porch was styled with pumpkins, lanterns, cornstalks and oversized mums. The wreath on the front door was made with dried flowers from the homeowners fall wedding 14 years ago.

The addition of a new covered front porch really expands the front of this 1950's home... a newly redesigned and constructed cover entry changes this home's look and feel. We were able to update the exterior finishes at the same time, replacing the old windows with new dark framed more energy efficient windows. The exterior trim is now all pvc; this lowers maintenance and upkeep. New fiber cement lap and shake siding improve weather durability. Proper overhangs give an added architectural details while improving rainwater control and weather protection. Square tapered columns accent the stained, craftsmen style, douglas fir wood front door. The entire porch has some type of stone - Eldorado stone veneer faces the foundation and porch with natural bluestone on the porch steps and porch floor.

Brick steps lead to the dark brown painted front door, with vaulted porch ceiling above. See the craftsman details and woodwork on the porch columns and headers.

This cozy, yet gorgeous space added over 310 square feet of outdoor living space and has been in the works for several years. The home had a small covered space that was just not big enough for what the family wanted and needed. They desired a larger space to be able to entertain outdoors in style. With the additional square footage came more concrete and a patio cover to match the original roof line of the home. Brick to match the home was used on the new columns with cedar wrapped posts and the large custom wood burning fireplace that was built. The fireplace has built-in wood holders and a reclaimed beam as the mantle. Low voltage lighting was installed to accent the large hearth that also serves as a seat wall. A privacy wall of stained shiplap was installed behind the grill – an EVO 30” ceramic top griddle. The counter is a wood to accent the other aspects of the project. The ceiling is pre-stained tongue and groove with cedar beams. The flooring is a stained stamped concrete without a pattern. The homeowner now has a great space to entertain – they had custom tables made to fit in the space.
