KenneyD,
Master addition/ remodel
I converted our square, cathedral ceiling, bonus room with a gable into a new master bedroom.
The main room has only one skylight and one window, but it lacks an acceptable exterior walls to add a window. To solve this meant a large opening to the bathroom, which now has 2 windows and 2 skylgihts. This required a unique design which incorporated a large wetroom, a peak-a-boo shower, large vanity and a watercloset.

Picture this: a large-scale renovation and addition, a dream team collaboration with Krieger Klatt Architects, Mosher Dolan, and Whitmer Design, and clients who wanted it all. Timeless? Yes. Eclectic? Absolutely. Funky yet grounded in tradition? You bet. Our clients desired a space that was both enduringly classic and delightfully unique—and we delivered.
Our clients craved a space that was functional for a bustling family life (hello, kids and constant entertaining!) but also a showstopper. The goal? To create a timeless kitchen and pantry that felt like an extension of the home's traditional bones while making a strong statement. Challenge accepted.

Glazed cherry kitchen cabinets are always in high demand in new homes and in renovations and kitchen remodels. Cherry is both expensive and highly cherished in crafting fine furniture. Most furniture and cabinetmakers consider cherry the top of the line wood choice for their best work.
The color of the wood might be light when first used to build furniture or cabinets. It may be stained a darker shade or simply allowed to darken as it ages. The wood readily accepts a finish. It typically has lovely markings that are unique and recognizable, whether gum streaks or the occasional pin knot.

Set amongst a splendid display of forty-one oaks, the design for this family residence demanded an intimate knowledge and respectful acceptance of the trees as the indigenous inhabitants of the space. Crafted from this symbiotic relationship, the architecture found natural placement in the beautiful spaces between the forty-one, acknowledging their presence and pedagogy. Conceived as a series of interconnected pavilions, the home hovers slightly above the native grasslands as it settles down amongst the oaks. Broad overhanging flat plate roofs cantilever out, connecting indoor living space to the nature beyond. Large windows are strategically placed to capture views of particularly well-sculptured trees, and enhance the connection of the grove and the home to the valley surround.

This project was originally set to be a curved steel/vinyl pool that had to be changed over to a more linear design after unearthing unexpected bedrock. The pool location, height, depth, and type had to be changed to accommodate the irregularities of the natural stone formations. ICF wall form system was used to create the pools framework, along with concrete and aluminum rails to create a structure that will accept provisions for a vinyl liner. Custom granite stone coping and oversized flag were used for the pool coping and walkways, a large wood deck was added to help accommodate grade differences and soften the overall look of the back yard.

Extensive remodel of a former Game Room into an upstairs Family Room.
* The fireplace replaces an exterior grill that was housed on the back side of this wall.
* A niche was recessed above the fireplace to accept a large flat panel television.
* Built-in glass-door cabinets and bookcases flank both sides of the fireplace, taking advantage of former dead space in the wall cavities.
* Second story floor-to-ceiling windows provide commanding, 180* views of the Pacific Ocean.
