This 2022 project for Sovereign Grace Music was a full-scale, purpose-built recording and production facility designed to support songwriting, live tracking, mixing, and video content creation. Working alongside the extraordinary Sovereign Grace team—and in collaboration with Authentic Carpentry—NILES handled sound reduction, audio integration, and all acoustic treatment design and installation. The facility features a full Control Room, a spacious Live Room, and a large Isolation Booth engineered for dry drum capture or vocal tracking during full-band sessions. Each space was crafted for accuracy, clarity, and intuitive workflow, ensuring that engineers and artists can move seamlessly between rooms without breaking creative momentum. Clear sightlines, generous lighting, and intentional layout choices make the studio equally suited for recording and video production. This 1928 traditional home is located in Tulsa's Historic Sunset Terrace. Built for a successful oil entrepreneur it totals close to 6,000 square feet of living space. Both interior and exterior possess an abundance of architectural detail. With original blue prints in hand we replicated both materials and details with 100% accuracy. The front porch was rebuilt with all heart vertical grain redwood, each piece of dental molding was hand cut. The stamped steel support columns were removed, sand blasted, and powder coated in their original color. As part of our overall restoration the architectural detail found in the soffit and facia boards were accurately replicated. New chimney caps were installed and the entire slate roof replaced. This hidden gutter system was removed and replaced with copper and new copper down spouts and collection boxes installed. All of the windows were removed and replaced with Pella Windows Architectural Series.

The goal was to create an environment that mirrors his creative workflow—quiet, natural, highly accurate, and intentionally crafted for long sessions of collaboration and focused work. The layout is compact but feels open thanks to high ceilings, soft daylight from the surrounding windows, and a palette of warm textures and natural materials. The room maintains a clean, grounded aesthetic without sacrificing technical performance, balancing style and acoustical precision in a way that supports both creativity and accuracy. Acoustic isolation was a core priority. The suite is fully separated from the rest of the home using sound-reducing wall assemblies, custom bass management including a full soft-ceiling trap and a false rear wall trap, and full-lite doors designed for controlled leakage. The result is a private, self-contained environment that integrates seamlessly with the home’s flow yet transforms into a focused creative space the moment the doors close. Monitoring was built around Kyle’s preferred ATC SCM45A loudspeakers, paired with Dynaudio subwoofers and calibrated specifically to the room’s frequency response. Every treatment, material, and speaker position was selected to ensure what Kyle hears while mixing precisely translates to the final master. The finished suite delivers an effortless feel with professional-grade performance—an inspiring, accurate, and dependable space built to support Kyle’s work at the highest level.

My goal when designing this dining set, was to embrace the act of gathering. The pandemic has proved nothing is more cherished. Therefore, the table was designed and crafted for side by side seating. The inspiration came from the beautiful pieces created during the mid-century modern era. Clean sleek lines, minimal ornamentation and elegance defined the furniture of this period. I incorporated hand carved splayed legs, exposed seamless joinery, arched front aprons and an elegantly chamfered rounded top. The timber used for the set is quarter-sawn sapele mahogany. The quarter-sawn section of the log is the most sought after due to it’s stability and beautiful ribbon grain. Pegged mortise and tenon joinery was used throughout. This is a time consuming technique that requires absolute accuracy but is far superior to today’s mechanical fasteners. The piece was meticulously sanded and an old world technique was used to ebonized the timber. This technique transformed it to a dark ebony tone but preserved it’s grain and character. Several coats of an oil/ vanish mix further enhanced the beauty of the grain and protects for daily use. The table measures 9’7”L X 44.5”W X 30”H and the matching benches are 98”L X 15.5”W X 18”H -$8500

For this small cottage near Bush Park in Salem, we redesigned the kitchen, pantry and laundry room configuration to provide more efficient storage and workspace while keeping the integrity and historical accuracy of the home. In the bathroom we improved the skylight in the shower, installed custom glass doors and set the tile in a herringbone pattern to create an expansive feel that continues to reflect the home’s era. In addition to the kitchen and bathroom remodel, we updated the furnace, created a vibrant custom fireplace mantel in the living room, and rebuilt the front steps and porch overhang.
