Complete with HD screen, projector and sound system, the motif for the room is the Renaissance, complete with fluted columns and arched panel walls. Double wood theatre doors open to theatre seating featuring burgundy leather theatre recliners. The basement also touts a large au-pair bedroom suite, large walk in closet and full large bath furnished with walk in shower stall, built in bench and niches, frameless glass enclosure, cherry vanity cabinets and brick color porcelain tiles. Building on the Existing Decor is Key The sleek, black appliances already in place demanded a bold complement, and the rich, deep hue of Cordovan on Cherry stain fit the bill perfectly. The arched cabinet doors add a classic touch of elegance, but one that blends seamlessly with the modern feel of the other design elements. This project was completed for a client who recently moved from a California mansion to a Georgia penthouse in order to be closer to family. It was a huge down size so it was important for our design team to help obtain that same grand appeal that the client was accustomed to, within a significantly smaller home. We created an open space plan that would allow for entertaining many guests at once. With proper scale in consideration, we chose to use large furniture that would make up the living room and dining space to reinforce that grand effect. Lending to this concept we hung drapery higher than the window frames and a bold ceiling fixture in order to compliment the height of the ceiling. Along with these accommodations we utilized the clients existing collection of eclectic wall art to fill the bare walls. In the end we were able to create a space that did not feel foreign to our client, but rather like home.

A tribute to modern architecture, designed by Lee Skolnick, this home resides on fourteen acres in Sag Harbor, NY. Kristen Elizabeth Design joined the team to advise on all interior design elements from surfaces to furnishings and create a modern, minimal vibe while maintaining a warmth that says home. We worked with the clients to blend treasured family heirlooms with styles that are trend forward, but timeless in design. Furnishings and textiles are neutral and softly hued and rooms are fluidly linked with old and new. The vision was to break out of the comfortable traditional style they were accustomed to and build outside their comfort zone with a modern and minimal vibe. Large windows were used in the dormers to provide egress in the event of fire, a code requirement. Window seats were built into the dormers to add interest. The cushions were covered in a fabric matching the upholstered furniture in the adjoining seating loft/den. Because the window seats (and thereby the cushions) were so large, a quartered pattern was used to cover the cushions. The owner has a prized Weimaraner who is accustomed to sleeping in his owner’s bedroom. CCI cleverly captured some eave space and created a “crate niche” for the dog’s crate which puts the dog near his owner but his crate out of foot traffic and immediate sight.

Our first "Beachy California style landscape"! Many components to this project; garden, water feature, lighting, and a deck strategically built to cover septic field lids (still accessible with custom built lids in the deck). The owners are now accustomed as to how to cover the Agave in winter and over winter the red Canna Lilies. All "deer resistant" plants used- at least for this garden.

When yearning for a wee bit of sunshine, this couple ventures over from the East Coast to soak it all up in their La Jolla condo. Trying this city on for size, this project was an experiment in going a bit outside the client's comfort zone, as they wanted something more modern in style than what they are accustomed to while keeping with the neutral and timeless colors they are so fond of.

Çimstone applies European Standards for its quality control and produces with the Italian BRETON technology. Using (and e-mailing) computer drafted renderings, product layout pages very professional builders, suppliers and steady communication, my client and I moved flawlessly through the challenges all remodel projects present.
