The dining room just beyond the kitchen got transformed with the addition of new dining chairs that were upholstered to integrate with the overall color scheme.
The piano was relocated to a lower level and the magenta color bowed to the same wall color used throughout the first floor living spaces.

The upper deck with a new arbor is now a sunny place to catch the action taking place in the beautiful backyard, or you can settle for a spell at the landing, head down to the pool deck and hang out, pull up a chair at the fireplace, or visit the dry-laid flagstone patio with deck chairs at the far end of the pool. This rustic area is more natural and organic because it is further away from the house. Gregg Willett

White oak wrapped casings frame a show stopping range elevation. With a warm metal range grounding the space and creating a beautiful focal point, a slab backsplash and sculptural sconces, this kitchen embraces simple lines and impactful details.

The original windows facing the lake were kept in place. A new front door was made from reclaimed wood to match the kitchen cabinets. Bleached plywood ceilings andd texture.

The owners wanted a fireplace in this room, so the wall shared by the kitchen was selected and its length extended about 20”.
At the same time, extending the wall’s length created space in the kitchen for adding vertical cabinetry for more storage.

In this project, Rochman Design Build converted an unfinished basement of a new Ann Arbor home into a stunning home pub and entertaining area, with commercial grade space for the owners' craft brewing passion. The feel is that of a speakeasy as a dark and hidden gem found in prohibition time. The materials include charcoal stained concrete floor, an arched wall veneered with red brick, and an exposed ceiling structure painted black. Bright copper is used as the sparkling gem with a pressed-tin-type ceiling over the bar area, which seats 10, copper bar top and concrete counters. Old style light fixtures with bare Edison bulbs, well placed LED accent lights under the bar top, thick shelves, steel supports and copper rivet connections accent the feel of the 6 active taps old-style pub. Meanwhile, the brewing room is splendidly modern with large scale brewing equipment, commercial ventilation hood, wash down facilities and specialty equipment. A large window allows a full view into the brewing room from the pub sitting area. In addition, the space is large enough to feel cozy enough for 4 around a high-top table or entertain a large gathering of 50. The basement remodel also includes a wine cellar, a guest bathroom and a room that can be used either as guest room or game room, and a storage area.

With a footprint of just 450 square feet, this micro residence embodies minimalism and elegance through efficiency. Particular attention was paid to creating spaces that support multiple functions as well as innovative storage solutions. A mezzanine-level sleeping space looks down over the multi-use kitchen/living/dining space as well out to multiple view corridors on the site. To create a expansive feel, the lower living space utilizes a bifold door to maximize indoor-outdoor connectivity, opening to the patio, endless lap pool, and Boulder open space beyond. The home sits on a ¾ acre lot within the city limits and has over 100 trees, shrubs and grasses, providing privacy and meditation space. This compact home contains a fully-equipped kitchen, ¾ bath, office, sleeping loft and a subgrade storage area as well as detached carport.
