When the family built a brand new home in Wentzville, they purposely left the walk-out basement unfinished so they learn what they wanted from that space. Two years later they knew the basement should serve as a multi-tasking lower level, effectively creating a 3rd story of their home. Mosby transformed the basement into a family room with built-in cabinetry and a gas fireplace. Off the family room is a spacious guest bedroom (with an egress window) that leads to a full bathroom with walk-in shower. This downtown Shrewsbury, MA project was a collaborative effort between our talented design team and the discerning eye of the homeowner. Our goal was to carefully plan and construct an orangery-style addition in a very difficult location without significantly altering the architectural flow of the existing colonial home. The traditional style of an English orangery is characterized by large windows built into the construction as well as a hip style skylight centered within the space (adding a masterful touch of class). In keeping with this theme, we were able to incorporate Anderson architectural French doors and a spectacular skylight so as to allow an optimum amount of light into the structure. Engineered and constructed using solid dimensional lumber and insulated in compliance with (and exceeding) international residential building code requirements, this bespoke orangery blends the beauty of old world design with the substantial benefits of contemporary construction practices. Bringing together the very best characteristics of a Sunspace Design project, the orangery featured here provides the warmth of a traditional English AGA stove, the rustic feel of a bluestone floor, and the elegance of custom exterior and interior decorative finishes. Client hired Morse Remodeling to design and construct this newly purchased home with large lot so that they could move their family with young children in. It was a full gut, addition and entire renovation of this 1960's ranch style home. The house is situated in a neighborhood which has seen many whole house upgrades and renovations. The original plan consisted of a living room, family room, and galley kitchen. These were all renovated and combined into one large open great room. A master suite addition was added to the back of the home behind the garage. A full service laundry room was added near the garage with a large walk in pantry near the kitchen. Xtreme Renovations just completed a Kitchen Renovation Project for our clients in the Garden Oaks Area. This project included re facing the existing stained raised panel Kitchen Cabinetry to Shaker Style painted Cabinetry. In addition, a large Custom built Pantry cabinet was added for additional space and functionality. New Door and Drawer faces were Custom Built with European soft closing hinges as well as full extension drawer glides that are also soft closing. This project included removing the exiting floor tile in the Kitchen as well as hardwood flooring in the Breakfast Area from a previous renovation project. The flooring was in three separate tier levels, so a concrete base was poured to provide a level surface throughout the Kitchen and Breakfast Area. New Ceramic Tile was laid on a broken joint pattern that extended into the Family Room. The existing backsplash was removed and upgraded to new Glass Tile laid in a subway pattern for an added touch of class. This project included electrical upgrades INCLUDING led Under Cabinet Lighting that added the ‘Wow Factor’ our clients desired and Xtreme Renovations is known for. Drywall repair and texturing as well as Painting the Kitchen and Breakfast area completed this transformation into a bright and soothing new Kitchen that our clients will enjoy for years to come.

The corner tub was replaced with a beautiful stand-alone tube, original cabinetry was painted in the new midnight blue navy and beautiful tile and quartz countertops gave the space a look of class and elegance.
