Located in the charming High Pines neighborhood, this project was born out of necessity and vision. The homeowners—a couple with three young daughters—had outgrown their dated home but found that the cost and compromises of buying a new property in Miami simply didn’t make sense. Instead, they chose to invest in a full-scale renovation, tailored to enhance their lifestyle, maximize space, and modernize every corner of their home. The transformation included opening up the kitchen to create more connected living spaces, enclosing a discreet laundry room, remodeling all bedrooms and bathrooms, creating a resort-style outdoor retreat with a new pool, patio, and outdoor kitchen, and building an 800-square-foot master suite addition. The result is a cohesive, family-friendly design that balances style, comfort, and function. Main Living Areas At the heart of the home, the kitchen showcases custom Shaker-style cabinetry, sleek quartz countertops, and a spacious central island designed for entertaining. Pendant lights above the island add warmth and character, while linear diffusers subtly enhance airflow. Custom refrigerator panels create a cohesive, high-end aesthetic, all set atop durable wood-look porcelain tile flooring that extends throughout the living spaces. Flowing effortlessly into the living room, the open-concept design promotes comfort and sophistication. Recessed and linear LED lighting highlight a striking tropical wood feature wall, while a wood slat divider adds architectural interest and provides subtle separation without sacrificing openness. Hidden within this feature wall is a discreet door leading to a new, efficiently designed laundry room. Master Suite Addition A major highlight of the renovation is the luxurious 800-square-foot master suite addition, a serene retreat offering privacy and indulgence. The master bedroom features linear LED lights, elegant pendant lighting, and a space-saving pocket door that enhances flow. The adjoining master bathroom evokes a spa-like atmosphere, with a massive shower and built-in steam room as the centerpiece. A bold black-and-white geometric tile pattern brings striking visual contrast, complemented by globe-style light fixtures, a sleek vanity, dark wood cabinetry, and soft-toned hexagon tile flooring. A custom walk-in closet with tailored cabinetry completes the suite with a blend of organization and luxury. Outdoor Living The outdoor space was completely reimagined to function as an extension of the home—ideal for both relaxation and entertaining. The redesigned pool features a modern aesthetic with a party bench and sun shelf. The patio ceiling is finished in Thermo Wood Ayous for a warm, natural feel, while the gourmet outdoor kitchen boasts porcelain countertops, dark blue cabinetry with stainless steel hardware, and a high-end stainless steel grill. Additional Spaces Throughout the home, the existing bedrooms and bathrooms were fully renovated to meet the needs of the growing family. Custom mahogany and painted Shaker-style vanities, porcelain tile, glass shower enclosures, new doors, flooring, and upgraded closet systems bring functionality and design into every corner. Curb Appeal The renovation begins at the front door with a striking modern tropical wood entry, porcelain tile pathway, and a stucco clapboard façade. Rich Thermo Wood Ayous soffits add depth and warmth to the exterior, creating a welcoming and cohesive aesthetic that hints at the thoughtful transformation within.

This original Master Bathroom was a room bursting at the seams with plate glass mirrors and baby pink carpet! The owner wanted a more sophisticated, transitionally styled space with a better functional lay-out then the previous space provided. The bathroom space was part of an entire Master Suite renovation that was gutted down to the studs and rebuilt piece by piece. The plumbing was all rearranged to allow for a separate toilet rooms, a freestanding soaking bathtub as well as separate vanities for ‘His’ and ‘Her’ and a large, shared steam shower. New windows fill the entire wall around the bathtub providing an abundance of natural daylight while hidden LED lights accent the mirrors when desired. Marble subway tile was chosen for the walls along with complementary, large marble floor tiles for a classic and timeless look. Custom vanities were designed with function in mind providing the homeowner various storage zones, some even hidden behind the vanity mirrors! The shared steam shower has marble walls, ceiling and floor and is accented by marble mosaic tiles. A marble bench seat and brackets, milled out of slab material to match the bathroom counters, provide the homeowners a place to relax when utilizing the steam function. His and Her shower heads and controls finish out the space.

This project was completed for clients who wanted a comfortable, accessible 1ST floor bathroom for their grown daughter to use during visits to their home as well as a nicely-appointed space for any guest. Their daughter has some accessibility challenges so the bathroom was also designed with that in mind. The original space worked fairly well in some ways, but we were able to tweak a few features to make the space even easier to maneuver through. We started by making the entry to the shower flush so that there is no curb to step over. In addition, although there was an existing oversized seat in the shower, it was way too deep and not comfortable to sit on and just wasted space. We made the shower a little smaller and then provided a fold down teak seat that is slip resistant, warm and comfortable to sit on and can flip down only when needed. Thus we were able to create some additional storage by way of open shelving to the left of the shower area. The open shelving matches the wood vanity and allows a spot for the homeowners to display heirlooms as well as practical storage for things like towels and other bath necessities. We carefully measured all the existing heights and locations of countertops, toilet seat, and grab bars to make sure that we did not undo the things that were already working well. We added some additional hidden grab bars or “grabcessories” at the toilet paper holder and shower shelf for an extra layer of assurance. Large format, slip-resistant floor tile was added eliminating as many grout lines as possible making the surface less prone to tripping. We used a wood look tile as an accent on the walls, and open storage in the vanity allowing for easy access for clean towels. Bronze fixtures and frameless glass shower doors add an elegant yet homey feel that was important for the homeowner. A pivot mirror allows adjustability for different users. This kitchen and dining space beautifully embodies Santa Fe Style Architecture, where traditional adobe-inspired elements meet modern function. Exposed vigas and smooth plaster walls anchor the space in the legacy of Adobe Architecture, while custom wood cabinetry and artisanal niches highlight the craftsmanship valued in Historic Preservation Santa Fe. The turquoise kitchen island adds a contemporary yet regionally inspired touch, blending seamlessly into the home’s Custom Residential Design Santa Fe. Guided by the vision of a skilled Santa Fe Architect, the design achieves warmth, authenticity, and livable elegance, honoring history while embracing modern living.

We designed and built a 2-story, 2-stall garage addition on this Cape Cod style home in Westwood, MA. We removed the former breezeway and single-story, 2-stall garage and replaced it with a beautiful and functional design. We replaced the breezeway (which did not connect the garage and house) with a mudroom filled with space and storage (and a powder room) as well as the 2-stall garage and a main suite above. The main suite includes a large bedroom, walk-in closest (hint - those two small dormers you see) and a large main bathroom. Back on the first floor, we relocated a bathroom, renovated the kitchen and above all, improved form, flow and function between spaces. Our team also replaced the deck which offers a perfect combination of indoor/outdoor living.

While the use of simplicity, clean-lines, and fairly neutral colors bring a sense of calmness and comfort to a space, this transitional style bathroom brings interesting traditional features as well. The white painted shaker door cabinets with textured Caesarstone “Rugged Concrete” countertop and backsplash, mixed with the timeless dual cross handles’ lavatory faucet and exposed shower pipe, set the scene for traditional luxury. To maximize function of the vanity, a wall tower cabinet, two sets of drawers and grooming pull-out provides plenty of storage for fresh clean towels, a hair dryer and toiletries essential for guests. Additional functional elements include a curbless shower with tiled linear drain, tempered frameless glass shower with door that swings (opens in both directions), a shower seat, walls prepared for future grab bars and a multi-functional jet showerhead and hand shower. The no-slip soft linen-look porcelain tile shower flooring and walls maximize safety. The contrast of the linear woven look of sand and white for the floor tile adds visual interest while the hexagon shaped tile provides a waterfall look.

On the same hall is the Laundry/Utility room. Beyond the laundry function, it houses items for the family pet, including storage of leashes, food, etc. and a sleeping space. The interior Dutch door to the room allows for temporary--but friendly--containment of the sometimes overly-enthusiastic pooch. At the core of this transformation was the client’s aspiration for an open, interconnected space. The removal of barriers between the kitchen, dining, and living areas created an expansive, fluid layout, elevating the home’s ambiance and facilitating seamless interaction among spaces. The new open layout is the perfect space to cook and entertain merging sophistication with functionality. The journey began with the client’s exploration of colors, eventually embracing Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy blue as the cornerstone for the cabinetry. This choice set the stage for a harmonious palette that tied in with the living and dining room furniture and rugs. Integrating a natural stone countertop became a focal point, incorporating these varied hues while gold fixtures added a touch of luxury and sophistication. Throughout the design process, challenges were met with innovative solutions. Space optimization was key, requiring strategic placement of appliances like a smaller-width refrigerator alongside a pull-out pantry cabinet. The island, a central feature, not only provided additional seating but replaced the need for a separate table and chairs, optimizing the space for gatherings and enhancing the flow between the kitchen and the adjoining areas. The revitalized kitchen now stands as a vibrant hub for social interaction. The homeowner seamlessly integrates into gatherings, no longer confined by kitchen walls, while guests engage effortlessly in the cooking process at the island. This transformation embodies the convergence of beauty and functionality, where every design element tells a story of thoughtful innovation and meticulous attention to detail.

Part of an addition on the back of the home, this outdoor kitchen space is brand new to a pair of homeowners who love to entertain, cook, and most important to this space - grill. A new covered back porch makes space for an outdoor living area along with a highly functioning kitchen. Cabinets are from NatureKast and are Weatherproof outdoor cabinets. The appliances are mostly from Blaze including a 34" Pro Grill, 30" Griddle, and 42" vent hood. The 30" Warming Drawer under the griddle is from Dacor. The sink is a Blanco Quatrus single-bowl undermount. The other major focal point is the brick work in the outdoor kitchen and entire exterior addition. The original brick from ACME is still made today, but only in 4 of the 6 colors in that palette. We carefully demo'ed brick from the existing exterior wall to utilize on the side to blend into the existing brick, and then used new brick only on the columns and on the back face of the home. The brick screen wall behind the cooking surface was custom laid to create a special cross pattern. This allows for better air flow and lets the evening west sun come into the space.
