Our Goal with this project was to update this space to make it more Modern. We opened it up, brightened up this space with new lighting, white cabinets, open shelving. The 10,000 sq. ft. Bellagio Residence was a 1939 Georgian Revival overlooking the manicured links of the Bel Air Country Club that was in need of a modern touch. Stripped down to the studs, Wearstler worked to create an additional 3,000 sq. ft. of living space, pushed up the ceiling heights, broadened windows and doors to allow more light and completely carved out a new master suite upstairs. Mixing the personalities of the clients, one slightly more conservative and focused on comfort, the other a little feistier that wanted something unique, Wearstler took a daredevil approach and created a high-chroma style that has become her new signature approach. Italian antiques, custom rugs inspired by silk scarves, hand-painted wallcoverings, bright hits of color like a tiger print Fuchsia velvet sofa against a plum colored pyramid studded wall and endless amounts of onyx and marble slab walls and floors make for an unapologetically lavish and seductive home. This cute cottage, one block from the beach, had not been updated in over 20 years. The homeowners finally decided that it was time to renovate after scrapping the idea of tearing the home down and starting over. Amazingly, they were able to give this house a fresh start with our input. We completed a full kitchen renovation and addition and updated 4 of their bathrooms. We added all new light fixtures, furniture, wallpaper, flooring, window treatments and tile. The mix of metals and wood brings a fresh vibe to the home. Location: Spring Lake, NJ, US Our design goal for this renovation and addition was to present a modern interpretation of Colonial Plantation Style. This home features dark wood floors, wood paneling and a light soothing color scheme. The Dining Room features classic silk De Gournay Wallpaper which further fuses the indoor and outdoor seamlessness of the home. The amazing tile installations permeate the decor with color, texture and pattern. The shaker-style kitchen is refreshed by using black cabinetry, a custom stainless hood and La Cornue Range. Design-build kitchen, powder room, and butler’s pantry remodel in an 1890 Victorian home in Wakefield, MA. Full renovation included reconfiguring the powder room layout and opening a load-bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room to improve flow and functionality. Kitchen remodel features frameless full overlay cabinetry in Steel Blue, quartz countertops (Alleanza Dolomiti Extra), beveled crackle tile backsplash, and hardwood flooring. Island addition replaces freestanding table and adds prep space with microwave drawer. Full-height wall cabinets maximize kitchen storage. Historic-inspired details include ogee-edge countertops, bridge-style faucet in English Bronze, decorative corbels, polished nickel hardware, and industrial-style sconces. Powder room renovation includes reduced footprint layout, basketweave floor tile, applied molding, wallpaper, and vintage-inspired plumbing fixtures in chrome. The bath has no natural light. To create a sense of spatial depth and layering of light, 3 L-shaped panels were positioned throughout the room. One central panel joins the back wall with the ceiling. Another panel links two walls in the back corner of the tub. The third panel carries the mirror at the vanity. Each panel is outlined with waterproof LED strips recessed behind its edge. Diffuse light emanates from behind the panels and they appearance to float. The face of each panel is divided into two surfaces striking a datum line at 74 inches above the floor. The vanity panel has mirror on the lower portion and flat white paint above. The tub and middle panels are semi-gloss grey colored paint below and white flat paint above. The central panel is a nod to the Ellsworth Kelly painting at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation in St Louis. The same matte finish tile is used on the floor and walls. All exposed tile edges were finished with aluminum angles. The same tile floor was used in the owner’s closet featuring lacquered cabinets and a back-lit vanity panel.

The homeowners loved the location of their small Cape Cod home, but they didn't love its limited interior space. A 10' addition along the back of the home and a brand new 2nd story gave them just the space they needed. With a classy monotone exterior and a welcoming front porch, this remodel is a refined example of a transitional style home. Two twin beds in an additional guest room are the perfect place for grandkids or friends who have come to visit the lake side cabin. Upholstered striped headboards and a classic oak side table with vintage style sconces keep it simple, clean and very functional.

Our clients for this project are a professional couple with a young family. They approached us to help with extending and improving their home in London SW2 to create an enhanced space both aesthetically and functionally for their growing family. We were appointed to provide a full architectural and interior design service, including the design of some bespoke furniture too. A core element of the brief was to design a kitchen living and dining space that opened into the garden and created clear links from inside to out. This new space would provide a large family area they could enjoy all year around. We were also asked to retain the good bits of the current period living spaces while creating a more modern day area in an extension to the rear. It was also a key requirement to refurbish the upstairs bathrooms while the extension and refurbishment works were underway. The solution was a 21m2 extension to the rear of the property that mirrored the neighbouring property in shape and size. However, we added some additional features, such as the projecting glass box window seat. The new kitchen features a large island unit to create a workspace with storage, but also room for seating that is perfect for entertaining friends, or homework when the family gets to that age. The sliding folding doors, paired with floor tiling that ran from inside to out, created a clear link from the garden to the indoor living space. Exposed brick blended with clean white walls creates a very contemporary finish throughout the extension, while the period features have been retained in the original parts of the house.
