This small luxury bathroom is designed to maximize space in a tiny bathroom. A full sized tub was required so the sink and toilet had to provide functionality while taking as little space as possible. The first trick to making the space feel larger is to keep the floor as open as possible. For this I first used a wall hung toilet. Then I recessed the vanity base on the exposed sides. The custom vanity is where the real action happens. This multi-function, custom built vanity provides many solutions. The toilet paper and tissues are mounted in the side. The fan switch is there too for convenience. The sink is offset to allow for some usable counter space. The faucet is wall mounted for the same reason. A small slot provide for waste eliminating the need for a basket on the floor. Then small drawers provide convenient storage for all the little items we all need in the bathroom. Of course the medicine cabinet provides addition storage, it is internally lit, has an internal outlet, and has a defogger function. Lastly, there is a hidden feature for the kids. The toe kick in front of the sink is actually a recessed step that can be pulled to assist in reaching the sink.

The clients desired more color and detail to their newly constructed, spacious, Master Suite. We helped them achieve this with the addition of new bed linens, family-friendly upholstered furniture, and a funky wall paper on an accent wall. The detailed window casings were showcased with custom roman shades with a decorative tape in the Master Bedroom and cool blue, custom colored shutters in the bathroom. The color, print, and textures used in the space create a relaxing retreat for the clients.

The tiny powder bath becomes a dramatic jewel box with the addition of this graphic wallpaper and the mirror that fades to clear glass (project completed while I was Lead Designer at Urbanspace Interiors)

the bathroom in this tiny studio apartment was devoid of storage & personality. the landlord painted the bathroom with flat paint. every time water ran there would be splash marks on the wall. the entire back wall and front door were covered with temporary vinyl wallpaper. the client wanted a place the feature her fun punk rock side so a black & white decor with pops of hot pink was implemented and keeps with the rest of the apartment's style. This Glen Ellyn couple wanted to transform their dated kitchen into a more family-friendly space to use on a daily basis for cooking family meals and for entertaining friends. The existing kitchen was quite chopped up with strange soffits and different ceiling heights. To make the space flow in a more logical manner, we borrowed an unused desk area from the adjoining hallway and reconfigured a neighboring bath. Getting it to work on paper was fairly straightforward, but there was a bit of complicated beam work involved as the new kitchen flows through what was an old exterior wall. The new ceiling is now completely flush as we were able to hide the support in the ceiling joists.
A new, larger window was added at the sink, the doorway to the room was widened and the resulting space creates a more easy flow from dining room to family room.
The clients chose white inset cabinets, white marble tops and an apron sink to keep the space feeling simple yet original to the home's Colonial styling.
Ship lap siding on the back of the island and at the pantry storage ceiling, a walnut butcher block, and antique brass details give the space an updated look.
Professional stainless appliances are functional and beautiful. In addition to a large built-in fridge and 36" range, a second oven is housed in the island for flexibility.
The pantry area has a convenience station that houses the family's espresso machine along with the microwave drawer. Another large bank of cabinets in the same area serves as pantry storage for dry goods.
The bathroom was also remodeled as part of this project. The full bath has a vanity, shower and convenient baby changing area.
The floor is encaustic tile, a type of concrete tile recognizable by its bold graphics. The mirror and lighting add a few modern touches to keep it in line with the Owner's personal style.

A mother and father of three children, these hard-working parents expressed their remodeling objectives:
•A clearly-defined master suite consisting of bathroom, walk-in closet and bedroom.
•The bathroom should be large enough for an additional shower, a tub, two sinks instead of one, and storage for towels and paper items.
•Their dream feature for the walk-in closet was an island to use as a place for shoe

Eldersburg residence once a 1990's dining room with striped wall paper and traditional furnishings has been changed to a beautiful modern rustic design. Dated striped wallpaper was removed and the walls were painted a beautiful robin's egg blue which opened up the space. A builders grade brass chandelier was replaced with a classic country black iron. The addition of the farm house table and linen tufted parson chairs will allow for many family gatherings. The heavy traditional swagged bay window treatments were replaced with simple light and airy geometric patterned curtain panels. Finished off with a beautiful elegant 8x10 rug, which added a softness to the existing carpeted floor.

Fulfilling a vision of the future to gather an expanding family, the open home is designed for multi-generational use, while also supporting the everyday lifestyle of the two homeowners. The home is flush with natural light and expansive views of the landscape in an established Wisconsin village. Charming European homes, rich with interesting details and fine millwork, inspired the design for the Modern European Residence. The theming is rooted in historical European style, but modernized through simple architectural shapes and clean lines that steer focus to the beautifully aligned details. Ceiling beams, wallpaper treatments, rugs and furnishings create definition to each space, and fabrics and patterns stand out as visual interest and subtle additions of color. A brighter look is achieved through a clean neutral color palette of quality natural materials in warm whites and lighter woods, contrasting with color and patterned elements. The transitional background creates a modern twist on a traditional home that delivers the desired formal house with comfortable elegance.
