This covered porch addition is quite large, encompassing a gabled roofed area of approximately 27′ wide and 12′ deep onto the back of the existing home. It features a 33′ wide stained and stamped concrete patio that includes a combination of two(2) neutral colors for added depth and visual interest. In addition to staining the concrete patio, Archadeck of Austin also stained the entire foundation across the back of home in the same color for continuity. The soffit and fascia are clad in Hardie Board to match the existing home. The open gable design also feature an arts & craft decorative element often used in craftsmen-style structures and delivers a gentle transition into the backyard from the coziness of the porch cover. The Jackson II is a spacious four bedroom home with a downstairs office/study, which can also be configured as a guest suite with bay window. The two story foyer has a railed overlook above, and encompasses a stairway with a feature window over the landing. The family room and breakfast overlook the rear yard, and the centrally located kitchen is open to all main living areas of the home, for good traffic flow and entertaining. A large pass-through utility room/mudroom is on the first floor, and accesses a back hallway convenient to the powder room and kitchen. The office or study is located off this hallway, creating a nice combination of privacy and accessibility. When the optional guest suite replaces the office/study, a drop zone is also available leading from the garage to house. The upstairs primary suite features a large bedroom with a trey ceiling, and a luxury bath with dual vanities, linen closet, enclosed commode, garden tub, and separate shower, adjacent to a roomy closet. Additional luxury bath options are also offered on this plan. Three additional bedrooms, one with a large walk-in closet, share a hall bath. Exterior plan details include a front porch, shake siding accents, and true radius head windows.

Duck Crossing is a mini compound built over time for our family in Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton, SC. We began with the small one story guest cottage, added the carriage house for our daughters and then, as we determined we needed one gathering space for friends and family, the main house. The challenge was to build a light and bright home that would take full advantage of the lake and preserve views and have enough room for everyone to congregate. We decided to build an upside down/reverse floorplan home, where the main living areas are on the 2nd floor. We built one great room, encompassing kitchen, dining, living, deck and design studio - added tons of windows and an open staircase, vaulted the ceilings, painted everything white and did whatever else we could to make the small space feel open and welcoming - we think we accomplished this, and then some. The kitchen appliances are behind doors, the island is great for serving and gathering, the tv is hidden - all attention is to the view. When everyone needs their separate space, there are 2 bedrooms below and then additional sleeping, bathing and eating spaces in the cottage and carriage house - it is all just perfect!

The massive utility area provides room for more than just washing clothes, while the screen porch with cathedral ceiling adds nice architectural detail. Growing families can transform the 498 sq. ft. bonus room into additional living room space or a playroom for the kids. The master suite was designed to pamper. Featuring a rear porch, the master bedroom includes an easy way to access Mother Nature. From the cathedral ceiling, his-and-her walk-in closets and spacious master bath, the suite promotes indulgence. The home offers a total of 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths, to meet the needs of family and overnight guests. The open kitchen, breakfast and morning rooms become one giant open space. Our client required a Universal Design for a San Diego downtown master bathroom that was functional, safe, and comfortable. The client requested a design for her father who had disability challenges. The design encompassed a slide-in tub and a comfort height toilet with fold down balance bars on each side. The magnificent slide-in bathtub is guaranteed to bring back the pleasure of a peaceful bath once again. The interior designer, Marie Cairns, also designed the new bathroom to be vanity wheelchair accessible with plenty of storage. We enjoyed designing this beautiful, multi-faceted set of outdoor living spaces in Kildeer, IL. The screen porch is a fantastic transition from home to outdoors. The TimberTech deck in Tropical Walnut and Uniloc paver patio with a fire pit create the perfect space for entertaining or simply enjoying the outdoors.
