The existing structure, a badly worn post-war ranch style house, was reinvented by substituting new single-slope roof forms in place of the old sagging gables. The owner wanted very light counter tops which established the basis for other color decisions. White Sapote (Casimiroa edulis) is a prolific, delicious fruit tree. The beautiful evergreen tree produces an abundant number of apple-sized fruits that taste like a combination of pear and flan (custard). The creamy fruits are great on their own or as an addition to a dessert. The tree is drought tolerant once established and very easy to care for.

This Japanese soaking tub was a must have for the clients. It helps achieve the idea of a spa-like bathroom. The smooth stone and natural elements establish the bathroom as a whole. The clean, minimalistic foyer pictured above is actually a brand-new addition to our Mountain Lane Show House. In the original home, residents and visitors walked directly from the entryway into the living room. In order to establish a transitional zone between the exterior and interior of the home, we extended the entryway outwards to add a porch and inwards to add a foyer.
