In the kitchen, our focus was on elevating the ambiance and functionality without the need for a full-scale overhaul. One of the main goals of this remodel, was to make this U shaped kitchen feel larger and more open, and to introduce additional lighting into this dimly lit space. To overcome the inherent limitations of the U shaped kitchen we utilized better lighting and white cabinetry. Along with the white cabinetry, we installed free floating, reclaimed wood shelving, as opposed to cabinetry, to enhance the open feel within the space. Aiming to flood the space with natural light, the client went for Marvin Ultimate floor-to-ceiling casement windows and a 3-panel sliding patio door in the new sunroom and worked with their designer to help pepper in additional Marvin windows throughout the home. As a final touch, a new cedar plank deck was introduced, infusing the space with warmth and character.
