This bathroom remodel took a small, outdated space and brought it up-to-date with contemporary fixtures and a cutting-edge linear shower drain. Swapping out an old, cramped, fiberglass shower with a much larger walk-in, not only improved the overall feel of the space, but made it safe and comfortable for clients even as they age. Adding more storage worked wonders at alleviating the clutter that bathrooms tend to accumulate.

The removal of a partition wall allowed the kitchen to reorient traffic flow, alleviating congestion and increasing functionality. A variation of lighting styles allows for ultimate flexibility in setting mood and provides bright task lighting right onto the work surface

The passive solar main living space is lit by two story windows that capture the views and warmth of the sun. The cabin is enveloped in a SIP building system (for maximum insulation and a short building schedule) that was coupled with a photovoltaic array for power allowing this family to conserve the energy they generated while alleviating the need to be tied to the grid.

This maple stair with open rise carpet treads brings a warm and impressive feel to this home. The self-supported design alleviates the need for support posts under the landings leaving the view through the windows uncluttered. Grouped blanked spindles and mission posts add a simple linear texture to the staircase. The many posts tied together with angular lines showcase detail and craftsmanship. Inspiration for a farmhouse home design remodel in Portland

This built-in stores the low-voltage system for the entire condo, a large flat screen TV, some full-height garment storage, nine drawers, and open shelving. All of the HVAC returns are built into the top of the millwork, alleviating the need for additional metal or pre-made grilles.

Managing water flow and drainage is always a top priority for hardscape projects. Behind all of this is drain tile to alleviate any build up of hydrostatic pressure caused by water.

The drapery panels on these windows actually help to draw your eye to the beautiful cut glass on the French doors. We also chose to use two short rods on either end instead of one long rod with no drapery on it across the middle. It also alleviates the need for brackets that would show, one of our pet peeves! Named the little house, this project was designed for the owners to down size into a more modest home with the space to continue entertaining at their previous scale. A post and beam house from the 1970s, this home was completely stripped down to its shell and reconstructed with a large living room structure added in the rear which alleviates the cramped low ceilings of the original house. These clients came to us with a tiny galley kitchen with a refrigerator in a separate room! Utilizing space from an adjacent three-season porch we created a larger, brighter more functional kitchen, with a slider to the patio. The "fridge room" became pantry space and the substitution of a barn door at the powder room and living room alleviated awkward door swings. This addition to the existing kitchen provided family dining in a heated and cooled solarium. From Machin Conservatories of Hampshire England, this addition alleviated the pressure of family activity from the main floor formal living and dining rooms, while supplementing the basement family room space. The herringbone walnut floors extended throught this space, while they were protected by construction paper until after move-in.
