This is an example of a mid-sized farmhouse full sun side yard landscaping in Philadelphia.

The goal of the project was to remodel a small 1922 bathroom into a bathroom that would meet the needs of a 76 year old client who intends to age in place. The client needed more surface space and storage, more light, safer access to bathing (the old tub was a barrier) with easy care surfaces all with in the same foot print. The existing bathroom was taken to the studs and re-framed to accommodate changes in plumbing fixtures and amend other confining framing issues in adjacent walls. Laundry facilities were brought upstairs as a part of the aging in place concept. Photograper: Fred Ingram

Fire Island poses many challenges for creating successful landscapes. Careful planning, preparation and amendments allowed us to create this stunning garden. While there is a lot of symmetry throughout the grounds, the garden still has a casual feel that still captures the feel of the Island. The gardens complement the architecture of the main house, pool house and surrounding patios. Russel Page. Photos by Jeffrey Erb

We designed and installed 16 custom planters around the front and side patio using a curated mix of climate-appropriate plants, stylish containers, and proper drainage for long-term health.
Here’s what went into it:
- 3D design to visualize layout, proportion, and plant placement
- Assorted planters with filler, perlite, raised garden soil + soil amendment
- A mix of sculptural and evergreen plantings, including:
• Dracaena trifasciata 'Laurentii'
• Boxwood Beauty Natal Plum
• Purple Majesty Chinese Fringe Flower
• Foothill Sedge
• Obsession Heavenly Bamboo
• Ray of Light Agave
• Woolly Grevillea, Snake Plant, Tradescantia & more

We designed & installed plantings with year-round interest harmonious with the post-Victorian home. The sandy soil was amended for greater moisture retention. The profuse plantings afford clients greater privacy. Pollinator-friendly.
