This luxurious downtown loft in historic Macon, GA was designed from the ground up by Carrie Robinson with Robinson Home. The loft began as an empty attic space above a historic restaurant and was transformed by Carrie over the course of 2 years. The main living area is modern, but very approachable and comfortable with ample room for entertaining.

The focal point of the yard is the 18’ x 42’ custom vinyl pool with sheer descent waterfall and integral spa. The spacious surrounding deck has ample room for three chaise lounges with space left for a large grassy children’s play area. Out of view in the back corner is a gravel pad base for their large, netted trampoline.

A separate hobby area was created in this mudroom to assist one of the family's daughters with her craft hobbies. This ample work area includes drawers, chrome baskets and pullouts for easy access to materials, and a slatwall used to store bulkier items. The forerunner of the design approach known as “family sofas,” NONNAMARIA is a collection that reprises the traditional image of period sofas and updates it by reducing, polishing and slimming the proportions. The result is a familiar line, but stripped of the classical ornament, shifted into the contemporary world. The family includes component configurations and linear sofas, daybeds, armchairs and an ottoman. The sofa with its soft, curved silhouette, accentuated by the rounded armrest that simplifies the scroll armrests of the tradition, is equipped with self-braking frontal casters and rear legs in beech. The armchair can also be reclined for a relaxing position. With ample padding and a removable cover, Nonnamaria is a solution for those who want products with a reassuring image, but updated for more modern tastes.

A warm and inviting basement offers ample seating for family gatherings or an ultimate movie night. A custom kitchen offers and area for snacks, appetizers and beverages when entertaining.

This beautiful kitchen is Thyme & Place Design's take on modern farmhouse style. White painted full access custom cabinets frame the perimeter of the space and a custom soft gray paint adorns the island cabinetry. The former kitchen felt tight and lacked style while this new kitchen has attitude to spare. Sub Zero and Wolf appliances set the stage for a cooks delight. An antique barn beam was used to create the mantle and corbels for an updated version of a mantle hood. Ample storage for everything a gourmet cook could want was provided. Deep drawers hold all the pots and pans for daily cooking. Pull out storage holds oil and vinegar bottles for instant recipe inspiration. A magic corner cabinet allows access to mixing bowls and colanders. Extra height wall cabinet storage contains several sets of dishes and most used foods at the cook’s fingertips. The island does double duty providing seating for extra guests, presenting a large expanse of countertop for all types of cooking prep. There is a microwave drawer for quick reheats and the most coveted by a baker, a built-in mixer lift. Behind the island, an oversized glass door pantry closet holds everything from pantry staples, to holiday dishes and oversized cooking and serving pieces. The dining area found a renewed sense of purpose with the removal of walls which cut it off from the rest of the home. New sky lights and a updated sliding door flood the space with light and open the view to the beautiful yard. A coffee bar was added which includes additional dish storage and a beverage center. Black ebonized maple with honey bronze hardware is a dramatic balance to the white and grey of the kitchen. The space was further opened to the family room which is now an integrated part of the family’s gatherings. Honey Bronze accents are repeated in the light fixtures over the island and as an accent on the sconces above the coffee bar.

The Icaro collection has a sturdy structure in solid wood and includes a bed, a bedside unit, a bookcase, a mirror and small tables. The Icaro bed has ample proportions and a padded headboard, featuring two high lateral posts in solid wood to frame the composition. The same look is applied to the freestanding mirror and the bedside units. The tables for the living area have a wooden structure with four legs joined by a cross at the base, to support marble tops. The bookcase also has the original wooden posts of the bed and the mirror, enhanced by solid wood shelves clad in cowhide or suede, a finely crafted detail that makes it particularly precious.
