The challenge for this project was that, while the homeowner desired all of the luxury amenities of a deluxe master bath, space was extremely limited. Therefore efficient space planning was critical in achieving the final design. Use of custom painted cabinetry and carrara marble countertops were the basis for this compact yet luxurious bathroom design. Careful attention was given to the tone of the finishes in order to keep this eastern-exposure bathroom light and bright. White trim and crown moulding was used in contrast to the putty colored walls. In keeping with the era of the home, a hand-glazed white ceramic subway tile was used in the soaking tub alcove. Nickel plated bath, lavatory, tub and shower fixtures in the vintage style were used alongside modern amenities such as recessed halogen lighting, electric towel warmers and radiant-heated tile flooring.

The difference between a "good" kitchen and a "great" one is in the details. This view of our Argyle Modern Farmhouse project showcases how we balance functionality with stunning design elements. Design Details: The Backsplash: We moved away from standard subway tile and installed a white arabesque (lantern shape) mosaic tile. The unique shape adds soft curves to the clean lines of the cabinetry. The "Farmhouse" Essential: A classic white fireclay apron-front sink sits beneath the expansive black-framed windows, connecting the indoor prep space with the outdoor view. Countertops: Durable Pure White Quartz provides a seamless, non-porous surface that is easy to clean and resists staining—perfect for a busy family kitchen. The Design House Difference: We don't just pick tiles; we design the entire palette. Our in-house designers helped this client coordinate the backsplash shape with the floor tile size and the ceiling beam stain, ensuring a cohesive look from floor to ceiling. Master Bathroom revenovated to become bright while and spacious. Using the existing white vanities, we topped them with a white and grey quartz countertop. Adding The light warm wood cabinets to each side of the sink allows for optimal bathroom storage and also a breath of warmth that the bathroom desperately needed. The large mirror and Chrome fixtures added a touch of metal to the space which allows the Turquoise backsplash glass tile to vividly shine through. The freestanding tub sits on a dark porcelain tile platform, light roman shades cover the windows and a chair sits as sculpture. Siri Blanchette/Blind Dog Photo Associates This kids bath has all the fun of a sunny day at the beach. In a contemporary way, the details in the room are nautical and beachy. The color of the walls are like a clear blue sky, the vanity lights look like vintage boat lights, the vanity top looks like sand, and the shower walls are meant to look like a sea shanty with weathered looking wood grained tile plank walls and a shower "window pane" cubby with hand painted tiles designed by Marcye that look like a view out to the beach. The floor is bleached pebbles with hand painted sea creature tiles placed randomly for the kids to find.

In designing the new layout for the kitchen, we decided to remove the pantry closet and expand into the former eat-in area. This gave us the opportunity to create a beautifully functional island with plenty of seating and prep space for multiple cooks in the kitchen. We were all still in love with the walnut flooring we installed during the first phase of this project and opted to lean into the classic tones and bring them into the cabinetry scheme. To balance all those gorgeous warm grains, we cooled the space down with a spunky hand painted tile that enlivens the space.

The guest bathroom has the most striking matte glass patterned tile on both the backsplash and in the bathtub/shower combination. A floating wood vanity has a white quartz countertop and mid-century modern sconces on either side of the round mirror.
