This garden imagines the ruin of an ancient Roman bath, remodeled into a koi pond and swimming pool in a splendid formal garden. All over Europe at the height of their empire, the Romans built elaborate baths connected to gymnasiums, not unlike modern health clubs. This landscape, inspired by "Capability" Brown, who designed the gardens of many English great homes in the 18th Century, incorporates the weathered, carved stone of a rediscovered Roman bath organically into the landscape, with natural boulders standing in contrast. Water lilies, iris and other aquatic plants inhabit the water's edge. Biological filtering by plants and bacteria would make it safe to swim among the fish.

Granite will need to be resealed periodically-most recommend annually- and because it is natural it can absorb odors, moisture and bacteria. Clean granite with mild soap and water and never use harsh chemicals or let acidic liquids such as citrus juices or wine sit on your granite for an extended period. Installation of a hybrid system gas furnace with a heat pump. The heat pump is the primary source of heat and the gas furnace is the auxiliary. This heat pump can work at very low temperatures (as low as -13 Fahrenheit). The gas furnace only operates when the heat pump can not provide enough heat. This is a 3,500 square feet home and over the winter the customer has gas bills as low as $50 a month. This system is also equipped with a air purifier that not only captures but kills bacteria and viruses. For optimum comfort, the customer also has an automatic steam dehumidifier. For controls he has the Evolution Connex Thermostat Control. This WiFi thermostat allows him to control the system remotely on any smartphone or tablet. He can be in his bedroom or anywhere in the world and still control the temperature of anywhere in his home.

Getting started. Organize all flower stems and branches by variety. From left: Pieris japonica, poppies, hellebores, anemones, ranunculus, hyacinth tulip magnolia, cymbidium orchid spray (which I ended up not using), Viburnum tinus in back, fancy parrot tulips. Strip off any foliage that falls below the water's surface to reduce bacteria. Note that I've inserted a vintage dome-style flower frog inside the footed vase.
