With three children under the age of 5, our clients were starting to feel the confines of their Pacific Heights home when the expansive 1902 Italianate across the street went on the market. After learning the home had been recently remodeled, they jumped at the chance to purchase a move-in ready property. We worked with them to infuse the already refined, elegant living areas with subtle edginess and handcrafted details, and also helped them reimagine unused space to delight their little ones. Elevated furnishings on the main floor complement the home’s existing high ceilings, modern brass bannisters and extensive walnut cabinetry. In the living room, sumptuous emerald upholstery on a velvet side chair balances the deep wood tones of the existing baby grand. Minimally and intentionally accessorized, the room feels formal but still retains a sharp edge—on the walls moody portraiture gets irreverent with a bold paint stroke, and on the the etagere, jagged crystals and metallic sculpture feel rugged and unapologetic. Throughout the main floor handcrafted, textured notes are everywhere—a nubby jute rug underlies inviting sofas in the family room and a half-moon mirror in the living room mixes geometric lines with flax-colored fringe. Flanking the fireplace are generous built-in white shelving units with linen-backed interiors, beautifully styled with blue-and-white chinoiserie, ceramic vessels, and coastal curiosities. Overhead, a dramatic cathedral ceiling with exposed reclaimed wood trusses in a king-post configuration draws the eye upward and gives the space an almost barn-like grandeur — softened immediately by the warmth of crisp white walls and abundant natural light pouring in through a wall of French doors. Those doors open to a deck overlooking mature woodland, blurring the boundary between inside and out. The furnishings strike a balance that feels lived-in and luxurious at once. Two generous cream linen sofas face each other across a soft blue-gray upholstered square ottoman, while a pair of cognac saddle-leather swivel chairs add warmth and contrast. A handmade zellige-style light blue brick backsplash adds subtle artisanal character behind a professional-grade six-burner gas range framed by a tailored white custom range hood. Kitchen in Bronco | Key Feature: A Scottsdale new-build rooted in sculptural modernism, Bronco Revival balances bold black-and-white contrast with organic textures, natural wood elements, and statement lighting. As a groundbreaking “Live Lab” designer residence, it’s a first-of-its-kind space where luxury furnishings are tested in real-world conditions before being introduced into high-profile client homes. Challenge: Because Bronco Revival was the designer’s personal residence, the project carried a unique level of pressure and intention. The challenge was creating a Scottsdale new-build that felt elevated and editorial while still functioning as a true family home. Every selection had to balance bold sculptural modernism (high contrast, statement lighting, architectural furnishings) with durability, comfort, and day-to-day livability. In addition, the home served as a “Live Lab,” meaning new vendors, materials, and luxury furnishings needed to be tested in real-life conditions before being trusted for future high-profile client projects. Solution: We approached the project with a highly curated, test-and-refine design strategy, treating each space as both a finished interior and a real-world evaluation environment. Key furnishings, textiles, and materials were selected to support the modern organic vision while also standing up to the demands of everyday family life. We worked through selections intentionally, layering in bold contrast, natural woods, and sculptural statement pieces, while prioritizing performance materials, pet-friendly durability, and timeless foundational elements. This warm space is modern and thoughtfully designed interior with a clean and cohesive aesthetic. The room feels open and well-balanced, with a layout that allows for easy movement and a natural flow between areas. Wood cladding surrounds the space giving off a warm and cozy feel. The color palette looks neutral and calming, likely incorporating soft whites, warm grays, or muted earth tones. This creates a serene and sophisticated atmosphere.

When the homeowners purchased this house, it had good bones — but needed a vision. Ready for a new chapter, they wanted their dining room transformed into a proper gathering space: formal enough for holidays, warm enough to linger. The direction was sophisticated, earthy, and organic with a slightly masculine edge, inspired by the wife's New England roots. We kept the architecture and gutted the built-ins, rebuilding with purpose — custom millwork featuring reeded cabinet faces, a mirrored backsplash, dark wood tones, an arched detail, and an exotic stone top strike a balance between feminine and masculine. A hidden pantry door disappears flush into the wall, and wainscoting was added to ground the space. Floor-to-ceiling window treatments fill the wall for balance, with the curtain track tucked inside the bay window for a clean, floating effect. An iconic mural-style print from Rebel Walls anchors the room as a large-scale work of art — a subtle wash of earthy tones that doubles as a focal point. Every outlet and switch was swapped for aged brass, tying every detail together into a room that feels like it was always there.

The standout feature is the bold botanical wallpaper by Arte International in shades of terracotta and sienna, which provides a warm earth tone backdrop and a refreshing energy to the small space. A floating vanity features clean lines and elongated gold hardware. It is topped with a white stone remnant boasting dramatic grey veining, creating a beautiful balance of materials. Modern teal blue sconces from Lightology are mounted directly onto the mirror providing a pop of color.
