The only request from the husband was to incorporate ship lap into the new designs. We used white ship lap on the Fireplace wall The living room has soaring cathedral ceilings with lots of natural light.The kitchen was redone to allow a better flow with custom cabinets and ope floor plan with family room. This project earned its name 'The Herringbone House' because of the reclaimed wood accents styled in the Herringbone pattern. This project was focused heavily on pattern and texture. The wife described her style as "beachy buddha" and the husband loved industrial pieces. We married the two styles together and used wood accents and texture to tie them seamlessly. You'll notice the living room features an amazing view of the water and this design concept plays perfectly into that zen vibe. We removed the tile and replaced it with beautiful hardwood floors to balance the rooms and avoid distraction. The owners of this home love Cuban art and funky pieces, so we constructed these built-ins to showcase their amazing collection.

The client came to us to transform a room in their new house, with the purpose of entertaining friends. In order to give them the relaxed, airy vibe they were looking for, the original outdated space needed some TLC... starting with a coat of paint. We did a walk through with the client to get a feel for the room we’d be working with, asked the couple to give us some insight into their budget and color and style preferences, and then we got to work! We created three unique design concepts with their preferences in mind: Beachy, Breezy and Boho. Our client chose concept #2 "Breezy" and we got cranking on the procurement and installation (as in putting together an Ikea table).From designing, editing, and ordering to installing, our process took just a few weeks for this project (most of the lag time spent waiting for furniture to arrive)! And we managed to get the husband's seal of approval, too. Double win.

This long narrow kitchen needed sleek new style to better compliment its young new homeowners. However, each spouse came to the design process with very different opinions of what to do with the space. He wanted warm cherry cabinetry with rich gold granite and traditional detailing while she wanted calmer, cooler tones with modern edges and accents. Meeting somewhere in the middle, the new kitchen boasts the cherry cabinetry he loves with a cool toned ivory backsplash for her. The surprising element of this room is how husband and wife came together to select Volga Blue countertops: a striking dark granite with blue iridescent flecks. The stone is enough of a statement piece for him while still being modern and edgy for her. The final product of this beautiful collaboration is a beautiful, transitional kitchen they'll both love for many years to come.

Do you and your spouse have the same taste and style? Normally one spouse is more traditional, and the other one is more contemporary. Inventive solution #9: We solved the wife's desire for contemporary, and the husband's preference for dark colors & traditional. We made this custom headboard out of brown suede & nail head trim. We then added a stainless console table & abstract art. The candles add a romantic touch, and the linen fabrics go well with the suede headboard. The designer fabric on the sham was the "inspiration" for the colors of the room.

JESSICA MUST DESIGNER/OWNER Jessica is the founder of Luxe Coast Design. Jessica has over 18 years of experience in residential design, decorating, project management and construction. She studied interior design and merchandising at Florida State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999. Jessica is touted for her ability to create a LUXE LIVING SPACE, which she describes as a luxurious space that is both functional and fitting of her client’s personality and lifestyle. Her clients benefit from her skilled knowledge of the construction process which not only creates successful and cohesive relationships with contractors and clients, but also helps her to stay on time and within budget. Jessica is a lover of yoga, and she and her husband enjoy spending time with their 3 children; traveling, boating, beaching and attending sporting events.

We added a desk with plenty of storage for the husband in the previously unused dinette. The cork backsplash is functional yet blends seamlessly with the backsplash.

Some say the key to a happy marriage is a double vanity. In the previous layout Amy and her husband shared a small vanity with two sinks that left almost no usable counter space. In the new design we added a separate vanity under the window for him and now Amy has plenty of counter space on her own vanity.
