KITCHEN FEATURES INLCUDE: - custom, raised panel cabinets and bistro height bar made out of dark-stained knotty #2 alder -vintage-looking oil-rubbed bronze cabinet hardware, footrest and brackets on the bar enhance the cabinetry -premium grade “Blue Storm” granite with lots of “movement” and drama -tumbled stone back splash to complete the “pub” feel - soffit with the pendant lighting mirrors the shape of the countertop beneath it -hand-scraped, dark-stained teak flooring CHALLENGE: The homeowners selected a large amount of dark surfaces with the cabinetry, countertops and flooring. SOLUTION: With that much dark surface we used color and lighting along with the many banks of floor to ceiling windows. The ivory enameled woodwork gave a lively contrast to the floor and wall colors. Finally we used dimmable lighting and many zones to sculpt a wide variety of moods and lighting levels. This fine set of cabinetry is made with European Beech wood. Sometimes known as the ‘queen of British trees’, the European beech is one of the most common trees in parks, forests and woodlands across Britain. It was essential to create a funtional set of cabinets for this ADU that interacted well with their new white oak wood floors.

Travertine subway tiles were used as the back splash for this updated Kitchen. The granite selected is Costa Esmerelda. Cabinets are frameless beech. Upper cabinets have sandblasted glass panels that increase the visual space of the Kitchen while providing only subtle details of color to the viewer's eye.
