One of my favorite spaces to design are those that bring the outdoors in while capturing the luxurious comforts of home. This screened-in porch captures that concept beautifully with weather resistant drapery, all weather furnishings, and all the creature comforts of an indoor family room.

Small space living solutions are used throughout this contemporary 596 square foot tiny house. Adjustable height table in the entry area serves as both a coffee table for socializing and as a dining table for eating. Curved banquette is upholstered in outdoor fabric for durability and maximizes space with hidden storage underneath the seat. Kitchen island has a retractable countertop for additional seating while the living area conceals a work desk and media center behind sliding shoji screens. Calming tones of sand and deep ocean blue fill the tiny bedroom downstairs. Glowing bedside sconces utilize wall-mounting and swing arms to conserve bedside space and maximize flexibility.

The homeowners wanted a space that could host both intimate gatherings as well as large parties. To accomplish this, Chanie Laree Designs custom designed a pewter table off the kitchen island, where the homeowners will take most of the meals and play cards with friends cut can also serve as additional seating for large parties. In addition, the console table behind the sofa (far left corner) doubles as more serving space. Finishes of the dining room table, console as well as the base of the pewter table all match. Upstairs, the bedrooms maintain much of the neutrals found on the first level as well as the natural wood and fabrics. In the master bedroom, a four-poster bed with gunmetal finish and Ralph Lauren fabric dominates the room. Other items were repurposed like the bed’s foot bench, which was originally a narrow table intended to sit behind a sofa. Since the table fit the space requirements, Musso’s team shortened the legs and added a cushion. Carrying the wood theme to the second level, three Moroccan bowls that Musso had purchased on a trip to North Africa in 2011, were altered by the addition of round mirrors and hung on the wall.
