Inspiration for a timeless living room remodel in Other

This reading area was designed around the beautiful blue bibliothèque, which is undoubtedly the focal point of the room. The furnishings around it were chosen with a neutral palette so as to not overpower the focal point. Yet, they have gracious lines and finishes found in French furnishings and interiors.

The living room, with art deco & French antique furniture is classic & stylish. The combination of taupe & black are a perfect neutrals to showcase the beautiful deco area rug, wood armoire & tables, & the accessories & artwork. This cozy and classic space is layered with Custom Furniture and textiles. Our clients tasked us with keeping the large Citrine chair and a half as well as the Bergere chair and ottoman. Senior Designer Cori Dyer puled fabrics, custom furniture, layered a patterned area rug on the existing custom jute rug. Changing the layout of the space, adding a sweet little blue settee and making this space cozy and comfortable.

Pairings of upholstered bergere chairs in spicy terracotta colors create an intimate conversation zone for couples. A hexagon-grid wood screen creates privacy and separates the lounge from the bar area. Javanese bird cages set on pedestals get lacquered and gold-leafed to serve as contemporary objet d’art.

This contemporary, four-poster bed is flanked by contemporary artwork and a classic bergere chair. A contemporary wall sculpture seems to "float" above the headboard, which is positioned in a corner of the room. An upholstered bench sits on a cowhide rug at the foot of the bed. The color palette is a soothing black, beige, cream and gold.

We repainted and recapped the entire home. Teal, my clients favorite color was incorporated through out. We had a new comfy poet's chair done in a comfy teal fabric and her existing Begere chair recovered. Embroidered silk drapes both 'frame' and soften the room.
