Located on the flat of Beacon Hill, this iconic building is rich in history and in detail. Constructed in 1828 as one of the first buildings in a series of row houses, it was in need of a major renovation to improve functionality and to restore as well as re-introduce charm.Originally designed by noted architect Asher Benjamin, the renovation was respectful of his early work. “What would Asher have done?” was a common refrain during design decision making, given today’s technology and tools. Beautiful original finish giltwood chair in the Louis XVI style. The chair has beautiful carved flowers, roses and instrumental motifs. Original giltwood has lovely aged patina and just a subtle distressed finish. We reupholstered this bergere in 100% organic washed Belgian linen, finished with a double welt edge. The seat is very comfortable with a slight pitched back, a perfect occasional chair. The legs are very solid and sturdy, this is a heavy weight well made chair, all hand-carved. Measures: 43" H x 28" W x 30" D Seat height 19".

DJK Interior Design created the interior architectural elements and luxury interiors in the Formal Living Room of this 11,000 square foot French Country estate. Furnishing details enhancing the reproduction French fireplace with over mantle include a linen upholstered Bergere chair with antique French tapestry pillow and bolster, aged black-laquered and gold-leaf detailed coffee table, reproduction commode, gilded lamp with rawhide shade, medallion stools, and antique mirrors. Silk drapery with tassel fringe showcase the French doors leading to the terrace, gardens and swimming pool.

The floral print on the chairs tie in the window treatments and help to define the entrance into the room.

Dramatic art has found a home. She was in a different area of the home, and just did not have enough space around her to breathe. Now she does! The glass dining table keeps the room light, and the glass and brushed gold geometric chandelier plays with the rug and the black and white abstract art.
