Full Bloom CottageWe make these pillows from old grain sacks from Eastern Europe. The pair have a deep red triple stripe down the center, and the body is a medium oatmeal color. They are sewn with a zipper closure, and since we prewash all our vintage fabrics in a hot wash cycle, you can re wash them over an over again without fearing color bleed or shrinking. We try to retain any original patches, hems, seams, flanges, and or ties that were original to the bags. Comes with a down feather insert. Measures 20 x 20 sold as a pair only.
Spratley & PartnersA robust, modern, riverside home with minimalist detailing that blends seamlessly into the surroundings. The home is used as a year-round weekend retreat for a family with children and as such they wanted it to be private and offer a sense of escape and freedom. The clients wanted it to be a low maintenance, energy efficient home making use of natural materials.
Clad with innovative treated timber, the house nestles harmoniously into its rural, riverside setting; making the most of its context, orientation and views while minimising any impact on the surrounding area. Two opposing blocks, forming a 'T' shape in plan, taper up in height towards the river to the east and fields to the south and define the internal spaces. The open-plan living, kitchen and dining areas benefit from fully-glazed sliding doors set in a deep reveal to the south which maximises light and provides shelter above. Large windows look out over the river and a raised, cantilevered deck wraps around the east and south elevations, creating an extension to the internal space that bleeds out into the landscape beyond.

The retailer’s soaring ceilings allowed Axis Mundi to create bedroom mezzanine spaces overlooking the living and dining rooms. Defining them with translucent glass welcomed natural light while retaining privacy. Downstairs, spaces bleed one into another, their basic monochromatic black-and-white palette acting as a unifying leitmotif. Yet each space feels distinct, with its own programmatic purpose, a feat largely achieved by varying floor and wall treatments—a graphic tile pattern in the entry, a red wall in the hall leading to the master suite, a colorful area rug in the living room. In the retailer’s heyday, the then-common saying, “Would Macy’s tell Gimbels?” implied the strategies the competitors kept from each other to gain the upper hand. Here, a structure iconic in its day also conceals something: a handsome, wholly contemporary repurposing that represents just the sort of innovation that made Gimbels the celebrated name that it was.

AJW Landscape DesignThis front yard sits below street level with a hedge and trees adding to its privacy. A flagstone path to the front door expands to create a sitting area amongst the dense plantings. A combination of shade plants such as hosta, and sun plants such as sedum and lavender, give the space great texture and color. A stepping sone path leads under a tree to the side of the the house.

KrimsonHAUSFlanking the tub, we adorned the walls with porcelain slabs resembling marbled textures, their beauty accentuated by ambient sconces casting indirect illumination. The overarching aim was to create a soothing hotel spa ambiance. Inside the rejuvenating shower, a geometrically grooved wall with bleeding-green grout met a contrasting porcelain marble slab bench and dam. The intricacies of the design coalesced to provide an immersive experience.

Nielsen's Remodeling & ConstructionThis hidden gem in West Plano was built in 1985 with a lot of heavy wood paneling. The homeowner wanted to have a built-in that served a double purpose; a nice display cabinet for books and decorations, with a classy functional ladder to access all top items, and some storage space on the bottom for some fragile items such as china and other collectibles. We added some nice touches with tile and a custom mantel to our existing fireplace. We also included 8”x48” pecan hardwood planks with a nice custom design that bleeds and merges in a very unique transition to the kitchen tile.
