Popular Scandinavian-style interiors blog 'These Four Walls' has collaborated with Kährs for a scandi-inspired, soft and minimalist living room makeover. Kährs worked with founder Abi Dare to find the perfect hard wearing and stylish floor to work alongside minimalist decor. Kährs' ultra matt 'Oak Sky' engineered wood floor design was the perfect fit. "I was keen on the idea of pale Nordic oak and ordered all sorts of samples, but none seemed quite right – until a package arrived from Swedish brand Kährs, that is. As soon as I took a peek at ‘Oak Sky’ ultra matt lacquered boards I knew they were the right choice – light but not overly so, with a balance of ashen and warmer tones and a beautiful grain. It creates the light, Scandinavian vibe that I love, but it doesn’t look out of place in our Victorian house; it also works brilliantly with the grey walls. I also love the matte finish, which is very hard wearing but has none of the shininess normally associated with lacquer" says Abi. Oak Sky is the lightest oak design from the Kährs Lux collection of one-strip ultra matt lacquer floors. The semi-transparent white stain and light and dark contrasts in the wood makes the floor ideal for a scandi-chic inspired interior. The innovative surface treatment is non-reflective; enhancing the colour of the floor while giving it a silky, yet strong shield against wear and tear. Kährs' Lux collection won 'Best Flooring' at the House Beautiful Awards 2017. Inspiration for an industrial home office remodel in Los Angeles

Home was designed to be a formal house but was now being used as a weekend retreat. Ann Kenkel had to decorate the house in a manner which was coastal enough so owner's felt like they were on vacation yet formal enough for the style of the house. AK found the house filled with wallpaper from the 1980's. Wallpaper from every room was removed and all trim had to be painted a neutral color. The formal dining room only had one entry. AK opened up a second entry into the dining room which provided a view of the Chesapeake Bay. This house was built in 1899, the oldest on the block, and once the Rugby School for Boys. The goal was to blend the owner’s formal taste with comfortable functionality for a family with three small children. The result is a space that combines color and pattern and just the right amount of modern while paying homage to the home’s history. We incorporated new designs, family heirlooms, antiques and refinished furniture to create a space that looks collected over time, rather than furnished from scratch over the course of a year.

The white kitchen opens up to this colorful sitting room with beautiful views of the screen porch over the sofa & the dining room to the left. Raspberry swivel chairs sit in front of a media cabinet & tv. The configuration creates an inviting conversational area for tv watching after dinner or during your morning coffee.

Accenting the teal glass backsplash tile with the vivid black and white rug is just what this small apartment needed. In this small spaces we tried to maximize space and organize effectively. The client loves the existing applesauce colored trim and we created a fresh color palette to go with it. The custom colored painting over the fireplace is a likeness of their children and is a constant reminder of fond memories from beach vacations. The bright patterned chair swivels to watch TV or join in lively conversation with friends and family!
