Colorful Coastal Bedroom The boy who lives in this room is a Star Wars fanatic. Yet, infusing the space with a Star Wars theme would have kept the décor from feeling fresh for years to come since the boy would eventually outgrow his current obsession. Since it was still important to add something that nods to his affinity, We had the walls between the bookshelves covered with a Cole & Son wall covering in a star motif. The room is awash in tones of blue, yet We felt it was important to incorporate a couple unexpected elements that would add a bit of fun. This room was all about making it up to the younger son! By that I mean his brother has the killer view. Given that he’s into the outdoors as much as his parents, we decided to bring the outdoors in to him and ordered up a 10’ cedar tree and configured a custom hammock to hang from it. He also got the trap door in this closet, but I think you already know about that!

A cool Star Wars bedroom for The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Themed around the planet Endor with forest like decoration, an AT AT Walker lofted bed and two tree houses for an adorable little boy and his two brothers.

This room for three growing boys now gives each of them a private area of their own for sleeping, studying, and displaying their prized possessions. By arranging the beds this way, we were also able to gain a second (much needed) closet/ wardrobe space. Painting the floors gave the idea of a fun rug being there, but without shifting around and getting destroyed by the boys.

At the opposite end of the twins' bedroom is the work area. The table was custom made during the time that some of the children were being home schooled, so it needed to be a good size with lots of room to spread out. Above the workspace, another piece by Ann Carrington creates a dramatic focal point. A portrait of Michael Jordan, the piece is constructed from layers upon layers of old cut basketballs. Closed storage is kept to a minimum, even in the boys' room. In order to prevent clutter, objects are given away when they have lived out their use by the family. "We hate clutter", says Cortney. A big boy bedroom for a little boy, this modern take on a safari room combines a contemporary feel with mid century modern furniture. Although the room in small it provides ample play and relaxation and storage spaces, with two large custom build in closets, a secret teepee hideout and a reading/playing area.

the Boy’s Bedroom The youngest boy (in first grade at the time of design) received a room that reflected his dreams and adventurous spirit. The map wallcovering provides endless interest, while the upholstered bed and custom Stanton rug are not too juvenile and will transition effortlessly as he ages.
