Shine Design

I’m so pleased to have had Sunshine/Shine Design as my interior designer for my newly constructed home. She has a great deal of empathy for her customer’s needs and preferences which really facilitates the building/selection process. She has a terrific eye for detail and exquisite taste. My house looks great (it’s not just me, everyone who walks in comments with superlatives). She even caught a couple of construction errors I never would have noticed. I’m continuing to work with her to put in the finishing touches. Her appealing personality is a big plus, and she takes her work seriously, as well as her customer’s satisfaction. Do yourself a favor and get to know Sunshine and her firm and hire them for your next design project.

Being a traditional style/antique lover all my life, I knew I would need some professional guidance in order to achieve an eclectic look that my husband and I would be happy with when we moved into our new downtown contemporary loft. After reading reviews online, I decided to call Sunshine and her team at Shine Design to help me accomplish this. And WOW - I'm so glad I did! Sunshine and Emily were able to take some of our existing furnishings, incorporate new pieces, and create an up-to-date look, all while being mindful of our preferences and concerns. The end result not only feels fresh and young, but also totally "us!" It's exactly the look we hoped for but had no idea how to achieve!! Plus, from an economical standpoint, we were able to avoid costly mistakes that we inevitably would have made if we tried to do this on our own. Thank you Sunshine and Emily for making our loft not only gorgeous and stylish, but also comfortable. Now it truly feels like home! I highly recommend Shine Design and plan to use them on future projects!

I had a one hour consultation with Sunshine and Jennifer, mainly to review with them my proposed changes throughout my downstairs. They were an hour and a half late, but did text me about this. They were very pleasant and gave me color suggestions for my kitchen cabinets and walls throughout my downstairs. They also provided names and phone numbers for an electrician, Brandon Ingle, owner of COBRA Electric, as well as a painter/carpenter/drywaller named Tito. Both men came to review my project and provided reasonable estimates. Brandon returned to do the electric work as promised and was professional as well as delightful. He will return to install a light when the other work is completed. Meanwhile, Tito was a no-show three weeks in a row. After several texts and phone calls, I recontacted Sunshine for help. She offered to contact Tito, and indeed returned my call to say she had left a message for him to call her, at which time she would call me back. You guessed it --- I have not heard from either Tito or Sunshine. Brandon the electrician called me to ask how the project was going and I advised him of my dilemma. He immediately contacted another company on my behalf to handle my project. Bravo to Brandon! Would I recommend either Shine Design or Tito? No!

As first time homebuyers, we made several design mistakes including trying to match our design with existing paint colors to help save money. After painting and repainting multiple rooms and having regrets picking out furniture, we quickly realized we needed the help of a professional. We were SO LUCKY to come across Shine Design on Facebook as Sunshine came in and immediately offered suggestions that meshed with our style. From the first email, she was prompt and professional and did an amazing job helping us re-design our dining room, living room, and entry way. She put together an inspiration Pinterest board of ideas for our review and was very open to our feedback. It was really fun having her do the installation of all of the finishing touches while we were on vacation to come back to a beautiful, brand new space that felt like home! We have stressed to others who ask about our experience that we HIGHLY RECOMMEND hiring an interior designer, and in the Indy area, Shine Design, as we are so thrilled with how everything turned out and never would have achieved this on our own. We are now really excited to work with her on our master bedroom and bathroom and can't recommend her enough!

Sunshine and Jennifer did an amazing job on our house. We asked them to come in and brighten up our home and they delivered. We started with 2 rooms but were so pleased with their work that we asked them to help us with 2 other rooms. They utilize different textures, heights, and colors to make an ordinary room shine! On top of this, they were great to work with and quick to reply whenever I had any questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Sunshine and Jennifer are the best! Shine Design transformed my newly purchased house into really feeling like home. My living room, dining room, and bedroom all turned out beautifully! I loved how so many textures and patterns were used together to truly make my space one of a kind. Sunshine and Jennifer created amazing and unique spaces that were completely tailored to my individual style. Sunshine and Jennifer are not only talented designers, but are very fun and easy to work with. I cannot wait to work with Shine Design again, and would highly recommend to anyone!

Sunshine Design comes with the greatest recommendation we can offer! This was our first experience with an Interior Designer for a number of reasons. We never understood the value, cost savings and how easy a service like this could make the process easier. We were very impressed with everything they helped with which included a kitchen table, painting suggestions, frames, artwork, curtains for the bedroom, hallway décor, rugs and other suggestions like what furniture to keep and what to get rid of.

Cannot recommend enough! Sunshine and Jen listened and delivered a beautiful sitting room for what originally had been our boring, used only twice-a-year dining room. It was a full-room redo - they provided paint recommendation, furniture selection and purchase, as well as accessories (rug, lighting, artwork, etc). Only wish I had a "before" photo, but imagine boring builder-tan walls with a dining room table in the middle. What a transformation! Many compliments already received!

I am new to the area and needed some help decorating my new home. I found Shine Design on Houzz and could not be happier with my results. We started the decorating process with one room, but ended up completing several rooms because I was so happy with them and their designing capabilities. Not only do they incorporate existing pieces if desired but they work with any budget from high end stores down to Target. They only charge for their time, which is well worth the $, and pass on any discounts they receive as designers. They listened to all of my ideas and created beautiful spaces that completely fit my style. They are wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend them. I know I will use them for any designing projects I have in the future.

When my husband and I bought our new home we needed some help adding that finished look. Sunshine and Jennifer helped do just that. They came in and knew exactly what to do for our taste. What we liked best was that they took existing pieces we had and incorporated them in their design. This kept our personal pieces, but allowed them to look better. They also bring a couple of options so that you can pick which ones you prefer. We started off just having them design one room, but we have exceeded that to many more! For each project we have given Sunshine and Jennifer a budget. They always stay within that budget. If you have any doubt in hiring a interior designer I would recommend you at least give Shine Design a try! Dawn Langdon

I have hired Shine Design for several projects in my home and they have exceeded my expectations. Sunshine was able to discern my design taste very easily and design my spaces accordingly. I had been worried about hiring a designer who might plan spaces according to the latest trends or to their own personal taste but that was not the case with Shine Design. I love that my spaces look stylish but not "overdone" and completely livable for a family with young children.
