A farmhouse style was achieved in this new construction home by keeping the details clean and simple. Shaker style cabinets and square stair parts moldings set the backdrop for incorporating our clients’ love of Asian antiques. We had fun re-purposing the different pieces she already had: two were made into bathroom vanities; and the turquoise console became the star of the house, welcoming visitors as they walk through the front door.

This new home office is stunning with the custom iron doors! We completely transformed this unused bedroom into a space for the homeowner to enjoy the views from his workspace! Our talented carpenter created this custom built-ins and built a sit-to-stand walnut desk. The green cork wallpaper adds texture and dimension!

lots of wood work, wood coffered ceiling, masculine chandelier, iron, built-in cabinets, desk with marble top, leather desk chair, accent chairs, glass cabinet doors, lighted cabinets, crown molding, bookcase, wainscoting, herringbone wood flooring, valance, area rug, elephant table lamp

We gave this rather dated farmhouse some dramatic upgrades that brought together the feminine with the masculine, combining rustic wood with softer elements. In terms of style her tastes leaned toward traditional and elegant and his toward the rustic and outdoorsy. The result was the perfect fit for this family of 4 plus 2 dogs and their very special farmhouse in Ipswich, MA. Character details create a visual statement, showcasing the melding of both rustic and traditional elements without too much formality. The new master suite is one of the most potent examples of the blending of styles. The bath, with white carrara honed marble countertops and backsplash, beaded wainscoting, matching pale green vanities with make-up table offset by the black center cabinet expand function of the space exquisitely while the salvaged rustic beams create an eye-catching contrast that picks up on the earthy tones of the wood. The luxurious walk-in shower drenched in white carrara floor and wall tile replaced the obsolete Jacuzzi tub. Wardrobe care and organization is a joy in the massive walk-in closet complete with custom gliding library ladder to access the additional storage above. The space serves double duty as a peaceful laundry room complete with roll-out ironing center. The cozy reading nook now graces the bay-window-with-a-view and storage abounds with a surplus of built-ins including bookcases and in-home entertainment center. You can’t help but feel pampered the moment you step into this ensuite. The pantry, with its painted barn door, slate floor, custom shelving and black walnut countertop provide much needed storage designed to fit the family’s needs precisely, including a pull out bin for dog food. During this phase of the project, the powder room was relocated and treated to a reclaimed wood vanity with reclaimed white oak countertop along with custom vessel soapstone sink and wide board paneling. Design elements effectively married rustic and traditional styles and the home now has the character to match the country setting and the improved layout and storage the family so desperately needed. Bright, fresh and loaded with detail. This 1990’s kitchen has undergone a great transformation. The newly remodeled kitchen features beautiful maple Bridgeport Recessed Brookhaven cabinetry in an opaque Nordic White finish with Bridgeport recessed door style. The cabinets are stacked with glass uppers to the ceiling and topped with gorgeous crown molding. LED lighting was installed inside the cabinets to illuminate displayed glassware all the way around the perimeter. The white cabinets and granite Super White countertops are accented with a large scale gray subway tile backsplash. A large walk in pantry was also created. A wet bar with a custom wine rack and wine fridge just outside the kitchen in the dining and living area gives guest a gathering place out of cook’s way.
The mudroom/laundry room is directly off the kitchen and was reconfigured with a new, more functional layout and also features new Brookhaven cabinetry in fresh white. The entry area has new custom built cubbies for additional storage. A full size ironing board was installed and is perfectly concealed inside a pull out cabinet for great space efficiency and convenience. Kitchen and Laundry Room Renovation, Jeff Garland Photography

This project was part of a major renovation with the closet being one of the largest square footage spaces in the design. The closet was designed from floor to ceiling with cabinets spanning the top and wrapping around the corners to connect the three sections of this closet. The narrow island is used to house ‘His’ shoes while ‘Her’ shoes are showcased on a wall of open shelving. Seventy-one drawers were needed to accomplish enough storage for personal items. The closet was constructed of White Melamine and traditional raised panel faces along with Extra-large crown molding and fascia buildup span and wrap around the entire closet. This closet is also graced with an ironing center cabinet, safe, tilt out hamper and pull out narrow tall cabinets to house necklaces and scarves, pull out mirror, belt racks, tie & belt butlers and valet rods. The island countertops are made with High Pressure Laminate to match the hardwood floor.

Not the most glamorous of projects but certainly a very functional working man and woman’s upgrade. The table is by Pottery Barn, the bench by R J Hoppe. Our client wanted functional, dining room, built in bench seating with some storage. They have three growing children and entertain frequently. There was a desire to emulate a country look and so we decided to use a calico hickory as our wood species. To achieve some further country styling we made our own bead board as well as some mock board and batten. An existing heating duct got in our way so we moved the register through the bench and out the front. The project was custom stained to match a sample provided and top coated with conversion varnish.

Luxurious modern take on a traditional white Italian villa. An entry with a silver domed ceiling, painted moldings in patterns on the walls and mosaic marble flooring create a luxe foyer. Into the formal living room, cool polished Crema Marfil marble tiles contrast with honed carved limestone fireplaces throughout the home, including the outdoor loggia. Ceilings are coffered with white painted
crown moldings and beams, or planked, and the dining room has a mirrored ceiling. Bathrooms are white marble tiles and counters, with dark rich wood stains or white painted. The hallway leading into the master bedroom is designed with barrel vaulted ceilings and arched paneled wood stained doors. The master bath and vestibule floor is covered with a carpet of patterned mosaic marbles, and the interior doors to the large walk in master closets are made with leaded glass to let in the light. The master bedroom has dark walnut planked flooring, and a white painted fireplace surround with a white marble hearth.
The kitchen features white marbles and white ceramic tile backsplash, white painted cabinetry and a dark stained island with carved molding legs. Next to the kitchen, the bar in the family room has terra cotta colored marble on the backsplash and counter over dark walnut cabinets. Wrought iron staircase leading to the more modern media/family room upstairs.
