You can see straight through the entry to the waterfront beyond. The architecture of the garage and entry shed are consistent and complementary with the main house beyond. The copper standing seam roof develops a natural patina that will be different from one site to another.

The midday sun casts long shadows down the cedar shingle siding from the generous roof overhangs. The cedar shingle siding is cut in neat straight lines for a refined texture that is appropriate for the careful composition.

This is actually Phase-1 of a 2 phase process. A future Phase-2 will add another 2-story bedroom addition wing to the left in this picture to finish out the symmetrical design centered on the front door. The shed dormers are pushed forward and flush with the exterior wall to provide more floor space to the second floor.

The addition was attached to the historic structure with a glass passage that complements the existing house without pretending to be historic. The existing historic X-bracing guardrail was restored but not imitated. Photo by Celia Pearson.

Note the lightning rods along the ridge. The typical window frames are green and accent windows frames are red. The entry doors are natural wood flanked by bronze finishes window frames.
