This couple contacted me before their little bundle of joy arrived to design their nursery. We started with what used to be a very pink little girl’s room, decorated by the previous owners, and turned it into a contemporary cozy space for their newborn. The carpet flooring was replaced with hardwood maple, a modern baseboard replaced the traditional looking ones, new closet doors with a maple frame and frosted glass inserts replaced the standard white doors and recessed lighting was added to brighten up the once dark room. The couple didn’t want the standard pink or blue nursery, but opted for a more gender neutral and modern color palette. So using my favorite base – grey – we added some foxy orange pops! The maple and grey crib and dresser are Oeuf, the orange glider came from Room and Board, the windows were covered by Room and Board as well and most of the accessories and decor was ordered on Etsy.

A black lacquer console table flanks the entry way by way of this great room. A swag artisan purple star lamp dangles above, shedding soft purple light. The clean and bright arrangement is a refresh of solid colored silk flowers (Magnolia) and Pussy willow branches. It rests by a vintage ebony sculpture, a Black woman. Her neck is adorned with sentimental statement jewelry that boasts the word “majesty”. Next to her is a white lacquer rectangular mirror repurposed as a tray that holds a host of white candles. At the forefront, a metal trapezoid shaped cigar ashtray holds a bundle of white sage and a Palo Santo stick etched with “Love”. It is almost a shrine of sorts. What a gorgeous presentation. Who wouldn’t want their space to be blessed with such a lovely welcoming committee?

Golden Persa Granite has combination of bronze and gold highlights, over a silvery-grey base. It's bronze and black specs create a dynamic relationship between the colors. It also has brown and cream colors with grey crystal chunks. (Bundle#1)

Larger Palapas require multiple poles footed in the concrete for structural requirements specified by the contractor or architect. Mexican palm thatch is relatively lightweight per square foot but combined with the timbers, plywood sheeting, and moisture barriers, overbuilding to support the weight is always recommended.

Rectangular grommet housing allows cabling to run up through a desk for access on the surface level. Sliding doors easily adjust to whatever size the job demands. Slide all the way closed for minimal pass-through on either end, or slide both doors all the way open for serious cable management options. High density cable bundling can pass through either end with ease. Or simply use for access paneling to reach controls under the surface level.
