Willadsen Design

This garden was designed and staged as the home was for sale. The clients request was to create a space that was inviting and would be well used while sticking to a low budget. I created a master plan and a mock up of that plan allowing potential buyers to see how the backyard could be used.

Open beam Palapa construction was used on this thatch structure attached to the back wall of this residence.

Primary bath remodel with Jack-and-Jill doors needed refreshing with minimal footprint changes. Needed to remove the superfluous middle vanity cabinet and provide more functional storage. Had to manage water damage and work around conduit bundles at the corner of the tub. We added a bench to the new step-in shower to provide a void for housing that. A hand-shower and grab bars were also added to aid aging-in-place. A bidet seat, heated flooring, and new lighting & ventilation for increased functionality and comfort. All surfaces were refaced with new tile and the turquoise walls were toned down to coordinate with this refreshed space.

The owners of this property needed a parking solution that wouldn’t impede access to their garage. Unlike a large expanse of asphalt or concrete, which would have visually overwhelmed this modest home, a unique design utilizing Unilock Artline proved to be the perfect fit.
The Artline bundle contains seven different shapes of pavers which, laid together in a running bond pattern, created a linear look that echoes the home’s siding. Geometric bands in a contrasting color were created using Unilock Series in Black Granite, to add visual interest and define the driveway from the adjacent parking pad and front walkway. The result is a highly functional project that adds contemporary curb appeal to this tidy home.

The half bath is a dreamy retreat, with Navy Blue Onyx floors and vanity, illuminated by a cloud of tulips. A Murano glass sink in creams and grays, reminiscent of a seashell’s interior, adds a sense of ceremony to hand washing. A small bundle of dogwood with blooms reflective of the lighting overhead sits by the sink, in a coppery glass vessel. The overhead lights were made with an eco resin, with petals hand splayed to mimic the natural variations found in blooming flowers. A small trinket dish designed by Michael Aram features a butterfly handle made from the shape of ginkgo leaves. Pattern tiles made in part with recycled materials line the walls, creating a field of flowers. The textural tiling adds interest, while the white color leaves a simple backdrop for the bathroom's decorative elements. A contemporary toilet with copper flush, selected for its minimal water waste. The floor was laid with minimal cuts in the navy blue onyx for a near-seamless pattern. The same onyx carries onto the vanity, casings, and baseboards.

At the entryway to this well designed condominium, a unique bent glass table, sourced from Houzz, with lots of utilitarian uses. But we styled it with vintage gears turned sculpture, and artwork sourced from SFMOMA, and a nice bundle of pink tulips.

New Caldonia Granite has a unique grain structure, which is very consistent between the different slab bundles. It is primarily a grayish color palette.

Tasting Center Bundle made out of Premium Redwood, comes along with individual bottles and displays, glass rack with a table top and an open diamond bin below.

Ouro Brazil Granite is a lovely beige and gold stone featuring a semi-transparent gray hue, burgundy garnet deposits, and black stone speckles. (Bundle #1)

Pretty in pink nursery, for that cute bundle of joy.

Town & Style Magazine
I would characterize this MCM project as a bundle of stress, labor of love in more ways than one. Picture this…clients come in town from LA for one weekend, tour a sprawling 7000 sf home nestled in Frontenac, share their vision with us, and away they go, back to LA, pack up their life and prepare for their move that was quickly approaching. First things first, I must say, it is one of my most favorite projects and homes to date. I. want. this. house. Like, for real.
Walking in the home, you are welcomed by wall to wall sliding glass doors that house an indoor pool, center courtyard, and this [now] gorgeous home wraps itself around these unique centerpieces of living space. You can see the pool and courtyard from almost any point of the home. The natural light, clean lines and mid century modern architecture was preserved and honed back to its remarkable state.
We had to design, project manage, construct the renovations…everything from the ground up within just a few months. Did I mention the kitchen was nearly gutted, new floors, removing walls, bathroom face lifts, overall design, interior and exterior paint, electrical…..whew, I’m tired just reliving the experience.

Rectangular grommet housing allows cabling to run up through a desk for access on the surface level. Sliding doors easily adjust to whatever size the job demands. Slide all the way closed for minimal pass-through on either end, or slide both doors all the way open for serious cable management options. High density cable bundling can pass through either end with ease. Or simply use for access paneling to reach controls under the surface level.
