DOWNLOAD NOW This unit, located in a 4-flat owned by TKS Owners Jeff and Susan Klimala, was remodeled as their personal pied-à-terre, and doubles as an Airbnb property when they are not using it. Jeff and Susan were drawn to the location of the building, a vibrant Chicago neighborhood, 4 blocks from Wrigley Field, as well as to the vintage charm of the 1890’s building. The entire 2 bed, 2 bath unit was renovated and furnished, including the kitchen, with a specific Parisian vibe in mind. Although the location and vintage charm were all there, the building was not in ideal shape -- the mechanicals -- from HVAC, to electrical, plumbing, to needed structural updates, peeling plaster, out of level floors, the list was long. Susan and Jeff drew on their expertise to update the issues behind the walls while also preserving much of the original charm that attracted them to the building in the first place -- heart pine floors, vintage mouldings, pocket doors and transoms. Because this unit was going to be primarily used as an Airbnb, the Klimalas wanted to make it beautiful, maintain the character of the building, while also specifying materials that would last and wouldn’t break the budget. Susan enjoyed the hunt of specifying these items and still coming up with a cohesive creative space that feels a bit French in flavor. Parisian style décor is all about casual elegance and an eclectic mix of old and new. Susan had fun sourcing some more personal pieces of artwork for the space, creating a dramatic black, white and moody green color scheme for the kitchen and highlighting the living room with pieces to showcase the vintage fireplace and pocket doors. Inspiration for a contemporary bathroom remodel in Salt Lake City

Biophillia living at its best. Boundaries are eroded by extending the floor and ceiling finishes from inside to outside. Recessed and hidden in the ceiling are window shades that can be lowered to provide privacy when needed.

The gorgeous modern primary bath is everything the homeowners had hoped for, including heated floors, a glass enclosed walk in shower, marble flooring and wainscot and a freestanding soaking tub. The double vanity is custom designed for the homeowners storage needs and the new windows bring lots of natural light into this new space.

Angled corners cleverly allow for two cooks to work together in this smaller urban kitchen. Deep army green cabinets and granite counter offset the gleaming stainless steel back splash. Pot rack and rich thick maple butcher block set the stage for this gastronome's next masterpiece!

This roof deck is an extension of a 1,100 square foot condominium in the trendy River North neighborhood. Christy Webber Landscapes assisted with construction of this green roof which includes a fire pit, water feature, custom stone planters, and an arbor to provide shade. Plantings include perennials that can stand up to the sun and heat. This roof deck was featured on HGTV.

Inspiration for a timeless kitchen remodel in DC Metro

This kitchen proves small East sac bungalows can have high function and all the storage of a larger kitchen. A large peninsula overlooks the dining and living room for an open concept. A lower countertop areas gives prep surface for baking and use of small appliances. Geometric hexite tiles by fireclay are finished with pale blue grout, which complements the upper cabinets. The same hexite pattern was recreated by a local artist on the refrigerator panes. A textured striped linen fabric by Ralph Lauren was selected for the interior clerestory windows of the wall cabinets.
