A family of four with two young girls and cats needed a brand new master bath to accommodate a family member with MS. They tasked us with creating a luxurious master bath in a modern rustic style that was ADA-accessible and could accommodate the client's walker and wheelchair in the future. Their key issues were that the shower was relatively small, with a curb the client had to step over. They also had a large jacuzzi tub with a tub deck built around it, but the couple never used it. The main bathroom only had one vanity with minimal counter space available, and the dated finishes and materials looked tired - so they were more than ready for a beautiful transformation. To create an ADA-accessible main bath, we relocated the shower to an interior corner, allowing for the addition of a larger ADA-accessible shower with zero entry and a bench the client could easily transfer onto for bathing. The arrangement of this space would also allow for a walker and wheelchair to easily move through the walkways for access to the shower. We moved the toilet to where the shower had been located originally with ADA accessibility features and installed luxurious double vanities along the entire vanity wall, with a modern linen tower cabinet for added storage. Since the client loved the modern rustic aesthetic, we incorporated their chosen style with elements like the Calacatta porcelain tile, cabinet hardware, mason jar lights, and wood-framed mirrors.

After their brand new construction was completed, this family had a beautiful and comfortable home that truly fit their needs. However, this new construction lacked an outdoor living space, which left the backyard feeling stark and bare. With this blank slate, we were able to create a relaxing environment for this family to enjoy. Faced with the challenge of using every square-inch of this small space, Native Edge was able to design a landscape that left this family worry-free. We incorporated a low maintenance composite decking system, modern raised metal planters, and a bubbling urn water feature to tie this peaceful landscape together. The poor drainage of the lot gave us the opportunity to create a striking cat walk and drainage feature, which left ample room for their vegetable and herb garden hobby. There is even a nook for the family dog to enjoy!

The kitchen includes Merillat Classic cabinets in the Ralston door style with a Mist finish on the wall cabinets and a Dusk finish for the base, island, and pantry cabinets. The window seat cabinetry features Masterpiece cabinets in the Rockwell door style with a Slate finish. The kitchen design also incorporates Silestone Pearl Jasmine countertops, 12x14 Odine Silver floor tiles, 4x12 Metro White backsplash tiles, KitchenAid appliances, and a Whirlpool hood. Nancy explained that the project involved updating the kitchen and widening the opening to the family room. "They wanted to improve the work area and provide seating at the island. Previously, there was a table at the bay window. We built a window seat below the bay window and relocated all appliances. Installing the range on the diagonal allowed for workspace on both sides. On the corner of Franklin and Mulholland, within Mulholland Scenic View Corridor, we created a rustic, modern barn home for some of our favorite repeat clients. This home was envisioned as a second family home on the property, with a recording studio and unbeatable views of the canyon. We designed a 2-story wall of glass to orient views as the home opens up to take advantage of the privacy created by mature trees and proper site placement. Large sliding glass doors allow for an indoor outdoor experience and flow to the rear patio and yard. The interior finishes include wood-clad walls, natural stone, and intricate herringbone floors, as well as wood beams, and glass railings. It is the perfect combination of rustic and modern. The living room and dining room feature a double height space with access to the secondary bedroom from a catwalk walkway, as well as an in-home office space. High ceilings and extensive amounts of glass allow for natural light to flood the home.
