This kitchen remodel began sooner than expected when a broken pipe caused significant water damage to the homeowners' existing cabinets. What started as an unexpected repair quickly became an opportunity to create the kitchen they had been envisioning.
We installed beautiful new Polar white cabinetry paired with elegant Berwyn quartz countertops, giving the space a bright and timeless feel. By removing the wall oven, we were able to add valuable cabinet storage and improve the kitchen's overall functionality. A gray tile backsplash ties the design together beautifully, complementing the new cabinetry and countertops while working seamlessly with the existing flooring.
The result is a fresh, functional kitchen that better suits the homeowners' lifestyle, and they couldn't be happier with the transformation.

We do many kitchen renovations in Toronto with this same layout, and are called in to open things up and improve the back addition. Our challenge on this project was to stay on budget and make the ceiling in the back room higher, as well as add much needed insulation to make the room warmer and comfortable, while renovating the kitchen. As you can see from the photos, this house is old and we made a number of structural improvements including fixing a old water leak that caused damage above the room.
This kitchen really stands out with the Cafe Appliances from GE. The white with copper is really cool! We also like the combination of the flat gloss uppers and the grey lowers. This is now very popular. And of course the wallpaper, we think it gives some much needed personality and colour to the space.

This home started out as a remodel of a family’s beloved summer cottage. A fire started on the work site which caused irreparable damage. Needless to say, a remodel turned into a brand-new home. We were brought on board to help our clients re-imagine their summer haven. Windows were important to maximize the gorgeous lake view. Access to the lake was also very important, so an outdoor shower off the mudroom/laundry area with its own side entrance provided a nice beach entry for the kids. A large kitchen island open to dining and living was imperative for the family and the time they like to spend together. The master suite is on the main floor and three bedrooms upstairs, one of which has built-in bunks allows the kids to have their own area. While the original family cottage is no more, we were able to successfully help our clients begin again so they can start new memories.

Inspiration for a contemporary enclosed family room remodel in Seattle with white walls, a standard fireplace and a wall-mounted tv

The phone rings early in the morning, and it’s a long-time client who treats our team of skilled craftsmen like family, continually lauding our work. It’s these types of clients we all have and all love and, of course, will drop anything to help.
As I navigate my usual morning commute, I’m greeted by a forlorn sigh and the description of the freak-fire which destroyed their beloved outdoor living area (along with the home’s family room, kitchen, and master bedroom). Getting past the initial shock, we had to act quickly to ensure their safety. Quite the start to the morning.
Challenges with this project run deeper than just the build: security of the entire affected area, good and sensitive communication, and navigating a pandemic lockdown can cause even the strongest-willed person to throw their hands up and call it quits.
When the fire broke out, it took out the entire backyard and portions of the home, making the structure unlivable. We needed to mitigate the fire damage and make sure the house was secure against break-ins, but also, no damage existed that could cause harm to the neighbors.
It’s these moments where relationships matter. The client needed a trusted and established partner to begin the rebuilding process. Professional knowledge is only one part of the puzzle. It’s here an empathetic ear, and extra solace goes far to remind the client all can be rebuilt.
Lastly, none of us saw the difficulties a pandemic would bring. At a time when a person was about to use every square foot of their home to shelter-in-place, our client would be in the middle of a rebuild with no use of their beautiful outdoor living area to get through the day. Luckily, we were able to work with the city of Clyde Hill and continue through an emergency services waiver.
What was done? The outdoor living area included a complete rebuild of the gazebo, including a large sitting area and fire pit. Stone patios were replaced, and additional stone was chosen to create a secondary, uncovered living area with a fire pit to enjoy during the summer months.
The build is a testament to superb craftsmanship and design. However, we believe excellence also includes the holistic approach to listen deeply, empathize and understand a client’s history, external pressures of the world, and build community and relationship.

At Deskins Siding & Exteriors, we’ve proven time and time again that homeowners can get a fresh, updated exterior look without blowing the budget. Whether you want a full transformation or simply need us to replace rotten siding or trim with Hardie materials that mimic the original profile, we make the repair seamless. We can provide you a fresh, modern color palette or color-match your existing colors perfectly for a clean, consistent finish. For homeowners searching for siding repair, Hardie trim replacement, or rotten wood replacement in Cypress, Tomball, or Northwest Houston, we deliver long‑lasting, design‑driven results.
This project is a perfect example. We replaced the rotten garage trim with new smooth Hardie trim, installed a rot board around the garage to repair damage caused by a weed eater, and finished everything with two coats of color-matched Sherwin‑Williams Emerald Rain Refresh for maximum durability and weather protection. We even refreshed the shutters with a crisp coat of color-matched pea‑green paint to tie the whole exterior together.
