There were to many disjointed spaces in the existing Eichler home, and the owners didn’t like entering right into the kitchen wall. There were not enough functional spaces in the house but it was tricky to see how or where to add to the home without losing the atrium. The Klopf team re-arranged the spaces in the house to put the bedroom functions under the flat, 8-foot ceiling and the whole great room under the higher gable roof, moving the kitchen to the corner and creating a symmetrical and regular-shaped great room. A narrow band of skylights and a reduced, but still open, atrium brighten the family’s days and bring more greenery into their lives. The Klopf team turned the small front bedroom into a laundry room, powder room, and hallway to a large, added work-from-home office/family room that can double as a guest room. From the street the addition looks like it might have been there all along, but for the family members it’s a game-changer. You would hardly guess that this bungalow was all sorts of boring brown before we got our hands on it! With a classic blend of blue and white cabinetry in the kitchen and gorgeous warm handmade tile accents, the interior view of this home is now just as beautiful as it’s stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. Changing the corner door to the pantry was a game changer in bringing this kitchen back up to date - be sure to see the before photos on Instagram!

Based on other life priorities, not all of our work with clients happens at once. When we first met, we pulled up their carpet and installed hardy laminate flooring, along with new baseboards, interior doors and painting. A year later we cosmetically remodeled the kitchen installing new countertops, painting the cabinets and installing new fittings, hardware and a backsplash. Then a few years later the big game changer for the interior came when we updated their furnishings in the living room and family room, and remodeled their living room fireplace. A luxurious rain shower head, light allowing clear frameless Starphire glass door and much needed inset shower cubby storage are game changers in this prewar shower. While traditional style mirror mounted sconces provide much needed, and quite elegant, utilitarian light above the custom vanity.

A baby boy’s nursery we designed has both plenty of functional and comfortable features. Through plenty of soft textiles - cushions, chairs, and blankets - we gave the space a calming ambiance with plenty of neutral greys and pops of soft blues. For a timeless look, we installed classic wall panels, which showcase a fun, eye-popping contrast between the panel outline and wall. An upholstered storage bench was also installed, ensuring easy clean-up of toys and other accessories, as well as an extra place to sit and play with the baby boy. Home located in Studio City, California. Project designed by Miami interior design firm, Charles Neal Interiors. They serve nationwide, with much activity in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Palm Beach, as well as Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta.

A new design brings opportunities for greatness. The spacious room with beautiful views was a good start. www.genevacabinet.com Geneva Cabinet Company, Lake Geneva WI However a central fireplace limited the natural flow of activity. Removing the fireplace and borrowing space from the mudroom was a game changer. Essential to the new plan is an inviting island with generous space for storage, meal prep, gatherings and dining.
