We cannot state enough how pleased we are to have chosen Knight Custom Homes for our kitchen renovation. Why, may you ask. They put their customers first. Customers needs are listened to and responded to no matter how small the detail the respond in a professional manner- before, during and after the project. On our one year follow-up they quickly took care of a few very small details- drawer hardware tighten up, epoxy applied. Straight forward nice people who we will definitely use again for our next renovation project.

I would highly recommend Neal and his team at Knight Custom Homes. We hired Neal to manage a $150,000 renovation to our home including a full repaint (cabinets included), new flooring throughout (LVP, carpet and tile), new baseboards/casing throughout, 4 bathrooms, custom cabinetry for a mudroom/pantry and office, master bathroom re-tile/re-fixture/re-design. Neal was extremely honest and open on both timeline and budget and always looped me in if there were any hiccups (i.e. our basement foundation had a 7" void that was not discovered by the home inspection and required spray foam to jack it up) or overages that required my attention. Neal has dealt with any deficiency encountered in a timely manner and the finished product was better than we could have imagined. All in all, if you want an honest company, you should consider Knight Custom Homes.

My wife and I hired Knight Custom Homes to complete a whole kitchen renovation in our 1960s era bungalow in Glenbrook. The project’s scope of work primarily included a new kitchen layout and remodel, removal of a bearing wall, as well as replacement of the electrical supply and outdated electrical panel. Our renovation project took approximately five months to complete from the design stage to finishing and turnover. All of which took place during the height of the pandemic with a great degree of uncertainty regarding materials and labor availability. During the process Neal communicated clearly and honestly about the challenges and that may unfold. Moreover, we expanded the scope of the renovations mid-stream to include additional finishing on the back stairwell adjacent to the kitchen (pony-wall construction, recessed lighting, and carpentry). Needless to say, Neal and his crew took the changes in stride and met all our expectations. Furthermore, Neal brought additional value to our project that exceeded his role as general contractor. For example, all the white oak trim (hood fan and floating shelves) was fabricated by him, not a third-party. He was also surprisingly innovative when solving on-site problems, which in our case resulted in the full sized fridge being recessed into the wall and not protruding beyond standard cabinet depth. Overall, Neal and his team were very professional throughout the entire project. We were also very glad to have worked with their business partner Susan from Live Well Interiors Inc., who was instrumental in planning and designing the space. The final product was delivered on budget and constructed as planned. We would easily recommend Knight Custom Homes to anyone who’s interested in taking on a renovation project, and expects high-quality workmanship.

Knight Custom Homes did a great job with our kitchen and bathroom renovation. They were recommended to us by my designer Susan at Live Well Interiors and we immediately liked the ideas that Neal brought to the table. Neal was very professional and always maintained contact to ensure we were aware of the developments. All of the trades people that Neal uses are of the highest quality from cabinets, to painting and flooring and electrical to the cleaners who made everything sparkle . We made frequent visits to the site and when we asked for some changes Neal was open to our ideas and did his best to give us what we wanted. Even though it meant early mornings and late nights for some of the trades they came in on time and under budget. We love our “new” home and would highly recommend Knight Custom Homes to those who are thinking of doing a large or small renovation.

Knight Custom Homes was amazing to work with. From the budgeting and planning stages all the way to completion they far exceeded our expectations at every stage of the renovation. Neal's attention to detail is incredible and he promptly took care of all challenges that presented itself along the way to hit our move in date. The before and after of our place is mind-blowing but I highly valued their process as well. We were treated with the same care and attention as a million dollar home and I would easily recommend this team of professionals to anyone looking to renovate or build. Right from the start there was careful attention to every detail including budget, timing, and quality. Neal is a good listener and problem solver. He skillfully managed the complete renovation of my 1962 home top to bottom balancing the building constraints, regulations, my budget and helping me fulfill the vision I had for the house. He has a great team that are knowledgeable, professional, and courteous- I felt comfortable working with everyone and truly appreciated everything they brought to the project. Knight Contracting completed a renovation of our home including master bedroom, ensuite, main bathroom and laundry area. Neil and his team take great pride in their work and we are very happy with the finished product. We couldn’t be happier with our whole-home renovation completed by Knight Custom Homes and would highly recommended them. We have all heard the horror stories of bad renos, but ours was a wonderful experience where we got what we wanted, on-time and for a very fair price. We selected Knight to perform an extensive renovation of our 1970s Lake Bonavista two story in 2016. The work included a new kitchen, 3.5 new bathrooms, new internal stairs, a small extension, new laundry room and other internal structural changes. We moved out for the work that started in 2017 and everything was finished as scheduled (6 months). The quality of the finished work was outstanding and exactly what we wanted - Knight and their trades take great pride in workmanship and Neal holds his trades to high standards and will make them redo their work if it is not up to par. Communication before, during and after the project was excellent. Neal and Natalie are very friendly and open and we knew exactly what was happening every week. As issues arose tearing apart our 40 year old home, Knight were quick to point them out and we would have a candid conversation on our options. As agreed up front, Knight were completely transparent with their own costs which provided us comfort that our charges were fair. We have appreciated that the minimal follow-up warranty work and questions have been responded to in a very timely and attentive manner. During the process, we really valued that the local owners of the business were also the ones on site doing some of the work. The one hiccup we had during the reno was a cost surprise at the end from all the extras we chose to add. The initial scope was clear and we knew about all scope additions during the project, but it was not until the end that we were given the grand total of what the extras cost. We do think the final cost was completely fair and our house was appraised after the renovation and Knight added more value than the renovation cost. We absolutely do not regret spending that extra to get everything we wanted. We are thrilled with our renovation and thank Knight Custom Homes for turning our house into our forever home.

A significant shout-out for Knight Contracting for the transformation of the front of our home. This job was carried out in 2014 and we still get huge commendations for the way it looks, the uniqueness of the design and the great extension to our living space that it has created at the front of our home! During the following summer Knight Contracting also replaced our side fence and garden gate(s). Once again it enhanced our curb appeal and was a superb job. They say "you get what you pay for"; this was well worth paying for! It was an absolute pleasure to do business with these guys! We appreciated Neal's professionalism, ideas, insight and workmanship.
