A gorgeous kitchen showcasing a brand new color palette of gray and bold blue! As this was the client’s childhood home, we wanted to preserve her memories while still refreshing the interior and bringing it up-to-date. We started with a new spatial layout and increased the size of wall openings to create the sense of an open plan without removing all the walls. By adding a more functional layout and pops of color throughout the space, we were able to achieve a youthful update to a cherished space without losing all the character and memories that the homeowner loved. Designed by Joy Street Design serving Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, and the whole of the East Bay. Located off the kitchen, we designed a four seasons room for the whole family to enjoy. This room allows them to cherish the sunshine and take in the outdoors, even during the cold winter months with their family and friends. Their dog, Lexi, can often be found curled up in her coordinating bed or keeping an eye on the backyard through the full scale windows. When the weather is right they can all transition out onto their new deck!

A one-day makeover to edit, rearrange, re-style and balance the spaces, was all that was needed to shift the energy. By moving the large, blue, vintage cabinet to the guest room and replacing it with these hidden treasures, we made the space brighter, more functional, and a place to display cherished goodies or, when cleared, a bar or buffet for party time!

The goal of this remodel's design began with the homeowners dream to restore her cherished 1908 home to its vintage glory, updating it with Art Deco inspired touches while maintaining its original character and charm. In the kitchen; marble counters, unlacquered brass hardware, vintage mirrors, and a library ladder were used to accomplish the old meets new aesthetic. A custom hood with hand painted gold detail and a Lacanche French range are centerpieces of this timeless black and white kitchen. The show stopping powder room off the kitchen is a bright pop of color featuring Schumacher's Chiang Mai Dragon print wallpaper, vintage swan faucet, and a turquoise Cyan Design chandelier installed on the metallic gold ceiling. We are thrilled to announce that this project was featured in the April 2020 edition of Seattle Magazine. Design By: Jennifer Gardner Design Construction By: Matt Walters Photography By: Alex Crook

A teenage girl's room thats a departure from the ordinary. This space was meticulously crafted to capture her love for music, museums, literature, and moments of quiet contemplation. Our design journey took us on a quest to create a space that not only exudes a moody atmosphere but also serves as a haven for relaxation, study, and cherished gatherings with friends.

The challenge: take a run-of-the mill colonial-style house and turn it into a vibrant, Cape Cod beach home. The creative and resourceful crew at SV Design rose to the occasion and rethought the box. Given a coveted location and cherished ocean view on a challenging lot, SV’s architects looked for the best bang for the buck to expand where possible and open up the home inside and out. Windows were added to take advantage of views and outdoor spaces—also maximizing water-views were added in key locations. The result: a home that causes the neighbors to stop the new owners and express their appreciation for making such a stunning improvement. A home to accommodate everyone and many years of enjoyment to come.

Envisioned as an outdoor sanctuary, our latest project seamlessly blends luxury with functionality. A custom-designed pool sparkles at the heart, offering a serene oasis for relaxation and recreation. Adjacent, a fire pit beckons, creating a warm gathering spot under the night sky. The outdoor kitchen, a culinary haven, provides the perfect space for al fresco dining. It's a testament to our dedication to both style and functionality, offering a seamless fusion of form and function. Highlighting the meticulous attention to detail is the landscape lighting that graces the entire space. Thoughtfully designed and expertly installed, it illuminates the yard, pool area, and even the basketball court, transforming the evenings into a magical experience. This project is a celebration of outdoor living at its finest. It's a retreat for relaxation, a hub for entertainment, and a testament to our commitment to creating spaces that enhance the lifestyle of our clients. We take pride in presenting this haven, knowing it will be cherished for years to come. It's not just a project; it's a legacy of unforgettable moments and cherished gatherings, all beautifully illuminated for maximum enjoyment.

Diane and Blaine wanted a recreational property in the mountains where they could enjoy their time together, and also share a getaway with ample space for their three adult children. They decided that in addition to having their own space, children and guests could also enjoy a carriage house and “the bunkhouse” while still cherishing time together. The property lies under the amazing mountains of Golden, BC.

We worked closely with this client to convert this half-acre slope from invasive vines, weeds and saplings to create this gorgeous, meadow-inspired, pollinator garden. Using a palate of largely native grasses and flowers is a delight to the senses through the four seasons. And, perhaps most importantly, serves as a vital pathway to our most cherished native birds and bees.

Throughout this renovation, the architects and Payne/Bouchier met the client’s desire to reuse some of her cherished architectural artifacts. The antique columns, wide-plank flooring, the salvaged soapstone sink, the mantelpieces, the garden ornaments, and the exposed supporting beam all add to this charming blend of modern and rustic aesthetics. The project included significant structural work to create an open kitchen floor plan that opens onto a private patio. Design: Hickox Williams Architects Photography: Mike Fein
