In Chicago, homes typically sit on smaller lots with neighbors close by. Luckily, the former family room (that is now the kitchen) had a large window that worked perfectly. This window allows plenty of light into the room and will give the couple a perfect view of the backyard to keep an eye on their new child as they play outside.

The client lives in Manhattan and purchased this classic Victorian house as their weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The refrigerator, freezer, and wine unit are Subzero with the wine fridge outside the cooking area for easy access. This is actually the second time Total Renos has done this kitchen. The owner of the company used to live in this house as a child. When he got into Renovations and cabinet making he renovated his parents kitchen for them. The before pictures show this beautiful Blue Wash kitchen. It was nice to go back and update this now outdated kitchen. Our Clients chose White Shaker Cabinetry, with a light Grey Quartz, and 4x12 grey subway tiles. We took out the bulkhead and added Top Box and Crown as well as updated the railing and lighting.

This Urbanized Farmhouse look is a compromise between spouses. He does the cooking, she wanted it to have a certain "flavor"......with a little bit of compromise from both, they have a FANTASTIC new space! From a very disfunctional kitchen to a space that allows for the "sous chef"(youngest child) to help out dad & lots of area for prep, clean up, storage & seating. The "man" space is the gray stained cherry wood & then add in mixture of off white painted cabinetry w/a touch of blue.......classic!

Built in the late 1920s, early 30s, the owners, a young couple with their first child on the way, decided to completely renovate this home adding on a second story (half story) and kitchen/family room at the back of the home. This was a wonderful collaboration among the owners, the architect, Richard Stevens and Anne's Home, Inc. All custom cabinets and hand blown art glass pendant shades (by Alan Busch).
