We transformed this bedroom by painting the walls soft alabaster white and gave it a modern coast style with the use of natural light oak wood furniture. We grounded the bed and broke up the white carpet with this hand knotted wool area rug with a coastal boho attitude. The brass finish on the lamps bring it back to a mid-century modern appeal. Everything in this room is serene clean and inviting.

Brooklyn bedroom made cozy through linen sheets by Hawkins, marble top tulip night stands, a woven laundry basket by Citizenry, and brass light fixtures by Schoolhouse Electric.

Tiny downstairs powder was redone with a bold graphic tile from Marazzi, Toto toilet, and wall-mounted sink and high end Hansgrohe fixtures. Walls in an inky midnight blue.

In this project Lazar has created another of his hyper-livable top floors—half indoors, half outdoors—that could arguably be the beating heart of the home. A sunny gathering space and gourmet kitchen are gathered under an elevated ceiling. Lined with windows and stocked with gleaming counters, the big room opens onto an equally spacious ocean-view deck that could morph either way: as everyday living space or party central. Practical highlights include a vestibule that connects to a bathroom, an elevator and a covert set of stairs that run down the exterior of the house. “From the pool you can run down the stairs and into the master bathroom,” says Lazar. “Or straight into the kids wing. Inspiration for a small mediterranean 3/4 bathroom remodel in San Francisco

Our clients had a dishwasher disaster in their 1950 s galley kitchen last year. The insurance company was sonly willing to pay about half the cost to rebuild. The clients also didn't like the dark, tight kitchen, and wanted to come up up with a way to open it up to the main room of their home. We took out the wall between kitchen and living room, while keeping the flow of the kitchen and saving money on pre-fab cabinets. We also put a large island at the end of the space, with open shelving above to display beloved travel artifacts. One secret - the stair down to the lower floor goes right beneath the island, leaving just enough space for some toy storage shelves on either side. We used hand-crafted Zellige tile for the backsplash, to echo the crafted quality of some of the décor. Not every client has an endless budget, so we work with families to get the most from their resources. In this case, the clients also feel that the space has "California Coastal" light, even in the Pacific Northwest.
