The kitchen is a study in contrasts. All-white perimeter cabinets meld into walls and bulkheads painted the same colour (Benjamin Moore Cloud white), while black areas -- island, sink, table, buffet, and doors -- are strategically placed to draw you into the space. White quartz countertops look sleek and clean. We added loads of glam with gold hardware and plumbing, and a playful brass and marble mosaic backsplash. As a further decorative fluorish, we took advantage of the existing bulkheads and emphasized the tray ceiling zones with a subtle shade of pale blue-grey.
This small kitchen is highly efficient! The island is only 4' long, but it's crucial for making the kitchen work as well as it does. It houses a 4-bin trash organizer right where it's needed near the clean-up zone, as well as a large bank of drawers. In the L-shaped section, 2 standard countertop microwaves are invisible behind doors in a specially-designed upper cabinet. Invisible too is the paneled dishwasher. And the sink cabinet holds multiple organizers -- a flip-down drawer for sponges, pull-out towel rack, and pull-out baskets for cleaners (latter 2 not shown).

This extraordinary home was so much fun to design. We have previously worked on three of our client’s homes and by now, we spoke the same design language resulting in conversations, ideas, and decisions that came easy.
The colorful outdoors surrounding this Intracoastal residence inspired our choices throughout the design. Bold deep blues live harmoniously beside aquas, pinks, and soft metallics expressed in large artworks, dramatic art glass, and luxuriously upholstered chairs.
The monochromatic master bedroom, however, is a study in textures. Soft taupe-hued furnishings appear to float on a luxurious cloud of creamy white achieved with a wall-to-wall fur rug while a bold oversized chandelier made of a single ring of clear blown glass illuminates and sparkles against two large and dramatic beveled mirrors. Translucent lucite lamps and the room’s generous nightstand’s chrome legs round out this elegant bedroom’s glamorous finishes.
Implementing innovative use of secondary spaces including the home’s hallways, walkthrough, and closets, we cleverly installed a floor-to-ceiling illuminated wine cellar that is as much a design element as it is a lifestyle feature for our client’s extensive wine collection. An extra-wide, low, narrow blue flame glass wall fire feature is unexpected and holds its own underneath bold oversized artwork.
The home’s two expansive outdoor living spaces are designed for entertaining with generously furnished spaces for cooking and dining or just lounging poolside with your favorite people while enjoying the beautiful vistas that make this luxury home a dreamy one.

Gutted this Master Bath to the studs, removed carpet flooring, oversized sunken tub, old vanities & tile countertops, brought in tile floors throughout, new floating cabinets with lights underneath, vessel sinks with wall mounted faucets, built-in mirrored medicine cabinet with power for Her hair appliances, & HIs matching built-in mirror, modern lighting, tiled walls to the ceiling, a brand new walk-in closet, a 1 pc, toilet with dual flush & recessed cabinet storage above.

"Lynn, we're ready to do the Guest Bath now"!
My clients excitedly told me. We had just completed the renovation of their Master Bath, so we set to work right away.
They wanted a 'beachy theme' and were also excited at the prospect of a larger bath tub.
"Beachy" was translated into the color and texture of the materials.
Floor tile has a mottled, blue glaze reminiscent of a cloud-scattered sky,
glass, mosaic tiles in translucent shades of blue and green echo beach glass and water.
Faucets in polished nickel add sparkle and everything is set against a neutral backdrop
of imported, Italian tile in glossy white.
Although this room is contemporary, local historic architecture is still honored;
faucets are a modernized version of old-fashioned faucet taps and the rectangular wall
tile harkens back to subway tile - typical in many urban buildings.
The tub area was enlarged by borrowing dead space from the adjacent kitchen pantry
and there's plenty of new storage in the vanity and recessed medicine cabinet.
Niches in the tub and shower area neatly contain shampoo bottles, soap and candles.
To set the mood for supreme relaxation, the jetted tub contains a revolutionary feature
known as Chromatherapy in which water-tight LED lenses imbue the bath water with colored light.
An externally-vented exhaust fan keeps this windowless room fresh
and layers of light come from the recessed ceiling fixtures and wall sconces.
The mood is set for relaxing, so fill up the tub, sit back ... ahhhhhh … just beachy!

The top of the buffet features a unique inlay of diagonal stripes made from remnants of the granite used to make the custom dining table. Aside from being decorative, they hide the fact that a seam was required to construct the countertop. A dark, windowless full bathroom gets the glamour treatment. Clad in wallpaper on the walls and ceiling, stepping into this space is like walking onto a cloud.

Columbus Design-Build, Kitchen & Bath Remodeling, Historic Renovations

For a couple of young web developers buying their first home in Redwood Shores, we were hired to do a complete interior remodel of a cookie cutter house originally built in 1996. The original finishes looked more like the 80s than the 90s, consisting of raised-panel oak cabinets, 12 x 12 yellow-beige floor tiles, tile counters and brown-beige wall to wall carpeting. The kitchen and bathrooms were utterly basic and the doors, fireplace and TV niche were also very dated. We selected all new finishes in tones of gray and silver per our clients’ tastes and created new layouts for the kitchen and bathrooms. We also designed a custom accent wall for their TV (very important for gamers) and track-mounted sliding 3-Form resin doors to separate their living room from their office. To animate the two story living space we customized a Mizu pendant light by Terzani and in the kitchen we selected an accent wall of seamless Caesarstone, Fuscia lights designed by Achille Castiglioni (one of our favorite modernist pendants) and designed a two-level island and a drop-down ceiling accent “cloud: to coordinate with the color of the accent wall. The master bath features a minimalist bathtub and floating vanity, an internally lit Electric Mirror and Porcelanosa tile.
