Inspiration for a modern living room remodel in Other

A bar was built in to the side of this family room to showcase the homeowner's Bourbon collection. Reclaimed wood was used to add texture to the wall and the same wood was used to create the custom shelves. A bar sink and paneled beverage center provide the functionality the room needs. The paneling on the other walls are all original to the home.

The Kitchen, made of lacquered sycamore, opens to the Family Room which is paneled with the same wood. The Calacatta Marble counters add to the lightness of the space. with virtually no appliances showing (other than the wall ovens) the Kitchen becomes an extension of the Family Room it adjoins. The kitchen has shades of dark grey, charcoal for its countertops, kithchen island, and cabinets. The charcoal glass backsplash completes the dark look. Equipments, devices and food products are ingeniously hidden behind the charcoal lacquered panels. All the appliances are integrated and the fridge is panel-ready. This new construction home was a long-awaited dream home with lots of ideas and details curated over many years. It’s a contemporary lake house in the Midwest with a California vibe.
