A cozy rustic modern living room blends natural wood, stone accents, and large windows to showcase breathtaking mountain views, creating a sustainable and luxurious retreat.

This custom home was designed by the talented architects at Platt Architecture. “Reclaimed Wonder” is located in the private golf community Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers, North Carolina. Every detail of this home was designed to create a work of art. Not only is the small mountain town of Cashiers a truly beautiful place, but this luxury home creates a beautiful retreat as well. The color palette of the reclaimed wood beams and wall planks along with the indigenous stone choices and carefully appointed warm amber lighting creates an ambiance true to the natural beauty surrounding the home. The structural Douglas Fir post and ceiling beams set the tone along with the stain matched 2x6 pine tongue and groove ceiling –this also serves as the finished floor surface at the loft above. Dreaming a cozy feel at the kitchen/dining area a darker stain was used to visual provide a shorter ceiling height to a 9’ plate line. The knotty Alder floating shelves and wall cabinetry share their own natural finish with a chocolate glazing. The island cabinet was of painted maple with a chocolate glaze as well, this unit wanted to look like a piece of furniture that was brought into the ‘cabin’ rather than built-in, again with a value minded approach. The flooring is a pre-finished engineered ½” Oak flooring, and again with the darker shade we wanted to emotionally deliver the cozier feel for the space. Additionally, lighting is essential to a cook’s –and kitchen’s- performance. We needed there to be ample lighting but only wanted to draw attention to the pendants above the island and the dining chandelier. We opted to wash the back splash and the counter tops with hidden LED strips. We then elected to use track lighting over the cooking area with as small of heads as possible and in black to make them ‘go away’ or get lost in the sauce.

Inspiration for a mid-sized farmhouse u-shaped medium tone wood floor and brown floor eat-in kitchen remodel in Atlanta with an undermount sink, recessed-panel cabinets, white cabinets, marble countertops, white backsplash, stainless steel appliances, a peninsula and white countertops

The mid century contemporary home was taken down to the studs. Phase 1 of this project included remodeling the kitchen, enlarging the laundry room, remodeling two guest bathrooms, addition of LED lighting, ultra glossy epoxy flooring, adding custom anodized exterior doors and adding custom cumaru siding. The kitchen includes high gloss cabinets, quartz countertops and a custom glass back splash. The bathrooms include free floating thermafoil cabinetry, quartz countertops and wall to wall tile. This house turned out incredible.

A spacious colonial in the heart of the waterfront community of Greenhaven still had its original 1950s kitchen. A renovation without an addition added space by reconfiguring, and the wall between kitchen and family room was removed to create open flow. This new 6400 s.f. two-story split-level home lifts upward and orients toward unobstructed views of Windy Hill. The deep overhanging flat roof design with a stepped fascia preserves the classic modern lines of the building while incorporating a Zero-Net Energy photovoltaic panel system. From start to finish, the construction is uniformly energy efficient and follows California Build It Green guidelines.
