This project we recently completed in Manhattan Beach had an original floor plan with a dark, closed off kitchen. The homeowners' desire to open up the space by removing the common wall between the dining room and kitchen came with a structural challenge; we had to keep a support beam. Our Great Room feel was successful by removing the wall, but leaving just the post which we wrapped with walnut panels to match their new cabinetry. Our team also removed a section of the mirrored wall, turning it into a beautifully framed mirror piece to finish off the family's new Great Room.

This couple came to us as newly transplanted homeowners in Sterling, MA, uprooted from Rochester, MA so they could be closer to their growing family and granddaughter. The former kitchen was a bit of a “Plain Jane”, but we transformed it into a charming, modern country farmhouse kitchen. The custom paint color on the cabinets came from a Wood-Mode sample called “Agate.” This lovely paint color is a chameleon, ranging from gray/green, to a beautiful blue hue depending on the lighting conditions. The uniqueness of this color is what caught the homeowner’s eye and it has become a customer favorite. This Sterling home is the perfect setting for such a beautiful color! As a trained chef and former restaurant owner, the husband does all the cooking in the house. Ample room was needed for prepping and serving, so he loves the long, wide peninsula. A full-height quartz backsplash behind the range and sink make for easy clean up. Very deep drawers flank both sides of the range, and the top drawer has special storage for spices. The cabinet over the refrigerator has vertical partitions for both cookie sheets, trays and pans. A tall pantry to the right of the refrigerator is equipped with heavy duty wood rollouts perfect for storing dry goods. Conveniently located to the right of the sink is a double trash cabinet. The end of the peninsula also has a 27” wide cabinet with dual rollouts storing small appliances, casserole dishes & Tupperware. The new space has plenty of room for prepping, cooking and entertaining family and guests in the adjacent dining room. Stepping outside the “white & gray” of common paints into this beautiful custom color has delighted these customers and their friends. We find it both inviting and soothing, a cool color that will be stylish for years to come! A serene primary bathroom wrapped in bookmatched marble creates a spa-like retreat in this reimagined Lincoln Park duplex. The freestanding soaking tub and walk-in shower with cantilevered bench offer a refined balance of sculptural form and everyday comfort. Subtle layering—textural rug, abstract artwork, and minimal fixtures—elevates the space with quiet luxury.

“Whole house remodel” is a pale description of this home’s complete re-imagining collectively achieved by architect Marty Buckenmeyer, interior designers at bright designlab, and builder Hammer & Hand. After clearing out the segmented living room walls and design stylings hailing from the 70s and 80s, H&H built a modern dwelling with an addition, open living and kitchen area, and eclectic details throughout. All new double-paned windows running the length of the common area wall brighten the space with treetop-framed views of Portland beyond. Hammer & Hand’s carpenters flexed their skills with many fine carpentry details including a custom metal bomber door produced by our woodshop, wood-panel wall with grain-matched hidden pop-out doors, and a steel and concrete fireplace hearth with built-in cabinets. A small galley kitchen in a standard LA home is a common sight in Los Angeles. The wall between the laundry room and the kitchen was removed to create one big open space. The placement of all large appliances ( Fridge, Washer\Dryer and Double oven) on a single full height built-in cabinets wall opened up all the rest of the space to be more airy and practical. The custom made cabinets are in a traditional manner with white finish and some glass doors to allow a good view of the good chinaware. The floors are done with wood looking tile and color matched to the dark oak floors of the rest of the house to create a continuality of colors. The backsplash is comprised of two different glass tiles, the larger pieces as the main tile and a small brick glass as the deco line. The counter top is finished with a beveled edge for a touch of modern look.

To make the room more functional and aesthetically pleasing, the utilities were kept separate in their own room. To maximize the area and keep the cabinet from taking up unnecessary space, the media cabinetry was inset into the common wall of the mechanical room. The left and right-hand closets were custom-designed to fit the homeowners’ decorations, supplies and miscellaneous storage needs. The walls and ceiling were painted Universal Khaki and textured to match the rest of the house. The trim and doors were painted in enamel white, also to match the rest of the home. Special features include custom-designed Kitchen Craft cabinets painted in a Cappuccino finish, a Virginia Ledgestone accent wall, Palliser Flicks power recliners, a GE wall oven, and a Zephyr wine cooler. The home theater room also features A/V, surround sound, HVAC, ambient lighting, wall sconces, row seating, in-wall speakers, and heated floors for optional floor seating.

Inspiration for a contemporary multicolored tile ceramic tile doorless shower remodel in Miami with an undermount sink, flat-panel cabinets, light wood cabinets, granite countertops and multicolored walls

The symmetrical front façade sets the tone by contrasting the earthy textures of shake and stone with a collection of crisp white trim that run throughout the home. Wrapping around the rear of this cottage is an expansive covered porch designed for entertaining and enjoying shaded Summer breezes. A pair of sliding doors allow the interior entertaining spaces to open up on the covered porch for a seamless indoor to outdoor transition.
