Connected to the great room, a functional and inviting kitchen allows accessibility while entertaining guests, unlike the original, isolated and constricted quarters of the previous galley kitchen.

Before the remodel there was a chamfered soffit in the breakfast room. The main entry to the room had a header lowering the height of the opening and there was an opening with a header between the kitchen and the family room. There were also upper cabinets suspended over the base cabinetry separating the two rooms. All of this was able to be removed during the remodel. These alterations allowed us to create the open feeling room the homeowners were hoping for. Alie Zandstra

Pull up a seat and use the chalkboard to guide you to what is one tap that day. Sneaking behind the barn door will take you into the supply room , along with extra refrigeration. This homeowner and craft beer maker has an extraordinary place to test and brew his special recipes.

Before the gut remodel, these two adjacent spaces lacked the cool Midcentury style the homeowners craved
The kitchen was our main focus, but dining room was also part of the design, because the rooms have such a strong relationship to each other. We consulted on furniture and lighting in that room, making sure the two light fixtures (one over the sink, the other over the dining table) didn't compete for attention.
The harmony of the spaces was achieved by keeping to a neutral color palette and an emphasis on textural accents: the stone back splash, the woven rug, the voluminous light fixture, the table runner and so on.

The standing seam metal roof was used as a timeless material and style not competing with the existing clay tile roof.
The expanse of windows provides the homeowner clear line views of much of the property and wildlife.
The transitional space allows the second floor windows to be retained while creates a transition space form the existing to the new.

A desire for a more modern and zen-like environment in a historical, turn of the century stone and stucco house was the drive and challenge for this sophisticated Siemasko + Verbridge Interiors project. Along with a fresh color palette, new furniture is woven with antiques, books, and artwork to enliven the space. Carefully selected finishes enhance the openness of the glass pool structure, without competing with the grand ocean views. Thoughtfully designed cabinetry and family friendly furnishings, including a kitchenette, billiard area, and home theater, were designed for both kids and adults.

"I cannot say enough good things about the Innovative Construction team and work product.
They remodeled our water-damaged, 1930s basement, and exceeded all of our expectations - before and after photos simply cannot do this project justice. The original basement included an awkward staircase in an awkward location, one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen and small living space. We had a difficult time imagining that it could be much more than that. Innovative Construction's design team was creative, and thought completely out of the box. They relocated the stairwell in a way we did not think was possible, opening up the basement to reconfigure the bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, living space, but also adding an office and finished storage room. The end result is as functional as it is beautiful.
As with all construction, particularly a renovation of an old house, there will be inconveniences, it will be messy, and plenty of surprises behind the old walls. The Innovative Construction team maintained a clean and safe work site for 100% of the project, with minimal disruption to our daily lives, even when there was a large hole cut into our main living room floor to accommodate new stairs down to the basement. The team showed creativity and an eye for design when working around some of the unexpected "character" revealed when opening the walls.
The team effectively uses technology to keep everyone on the same page about changes, requests, schedules, contracts, invoices, etc. Everyone is friendly, competent, helpful, and responsive. I felt heard throughout the process, and my requests were responded to quickly and thoroughly. I recommend Innovative Construction without reservation."

A vibrant meadow filled with California native foliage provides a beautiful view from the home. Can you see the retaining wall? An abundance of tree canopy, the only pre-existing foliage, cools both the home and garden.
