This well-loved home belonging to a family of seven was overdue for some more room. Renovations by the team at Advance Design Studio entailed both a lower and upper level addition to original home. Included in the project was a much larger kitchen, eating area, family room and mud room with a renovated powder room on the first floor. The new upper level included a new master suite with his and hers closets, a new master bath, outdoor balcony patio space, and a renovation to the only other full bath on in that part of the house.
Having five children formerly meant that when everyone was seated at the large kitchen table, they couldn’t open the refrigerator door! So naturally the main focus was on the kitchen, with a desire to create a gathering place where the whole family could hang out easily with room to spare. The homeowner had a love of all things Irish, and careful details in the crown molding, hardware and tile backsplash were a reflection. Rich cherry cabinetry and green granite counter tops complete a traditional look so as to fit right in with the elegant old molding and door profiles in this fine old home.
The second focus for these parents was a master suite and bathroom of their own! After years of sharing, this was an important feature in the new space. This simple yet efficient bath space needed to accommodate a long wall of windows to work with the exterior design. A generous shower enclosure with a comfortable bench seat is open visually to the his and hers vanity areas, and a spacious tub. The makeup table enjoys lots of natural light spilling through large windows and an exit door to the adult’s only exclusive coffee retreat on the rooftop adjacent.
Added square footage to the footprint of the house allowed for a spacious family room and much needed breakfast area. The dining room pass through was accentuated by a period appropriate transom detail encasing custom designed carved glass detailing that appears as if it’s been there all along. Reclaimed painted tin panels were added to the dining room ceiling amongst elegant crown molding for unique and dramatic dining room flair. An efficient dry bar area was tucked neatly between the great room spaces, offering an excellent entertainment area to circulating guests and family at any time.
This large family now enjoys regular Sunday breakfasts and dinners in a space that they all love to hang out in. The client reports that they spend more time as a family now than they did before because their house is more accommodating to them all. That’s quite a feat anyone with teenagers can relate to! Advance Design was thrilled to work on this project and bring this family the home they had been dreaming about for many, many years.

Our clients approached us to renovate their loved family home. The Main Floor needed a fresh update, and better functionality and storage to fit the needs of their growing family.
The existing Kitchen felt closed off from the rest of the Main Floor, and the layout did not allow for enough countertop or storage space. Each of their Bathrooms also needed an update and better storage.
Due to a previously bad experience with another contractor previously, it was important for our clients to work with a contractor who they could build trust with, and feel respected by and comfortable with.
Using space from an extra stairway in the side entry of the house, we were able to create a spacious mudroom, perfect for taking a seat to put on or take off coats and boots, and unique, hidden storage for seasonal and outdoor items.
We were able to create a more open concept Main Floor, by removing the walls between the Kitchen and Family Room. This allowed for a larger, more functional Kitchen. The new Kitchen is bright and welcoming with white quartz countertops that run seamlessly into a matching backsplash. Beautiful white cabinetry is complemented by brushed bronze pulls and faucets, and durable, contemporary flooring.
We transformed the Kitchen and Family Room areas with a vaulted ceiling, and a repaired and modernized Kitchen skylight. We also integrated a patio door entrance, which combined with both sloped and flat sections of the vaulted ceiling, proved to be quite a challenge!
This project involved skilled welding, roofing, and structural work, and it was important to maintain the structural integrity of the ceiling. As any mistakes could result in serious issues, communication between everyone involved was key! Regular team meetings, updates on progress, and addressing concerns promptly kept everyone on the same page and avoided misunderstandings. In the end, the raised ceiling, skylight, and patio door were well worth the work, as together they enhanced the airiness and visual spaciousness of the space.
On the Second Floor, we created a larger Master Ensuite by borrowing room from existing closet space. This allowed for a spacious walk-in shower, and separate bathtub. A prefabricated stylish vanity not only adds a pop of colour, but also provides plenty of useful storage. New marble tiling on the floor extends to the wall behind the bathtub, creating a luxurious accent wall.
The Shared Bathroom was updated to include a new walk-in shower, and a separate bathtub, surrounded by modern geometric wall tiles.
The removal of popcorn ceilings, an updated the Front Door, and a refinished Main Staircase with metal railings completed tying the home together, creating a fresh, updated space that this family can enjoy for years to come.

(AFTER) Voila! A huge walk in shower. Beautiful hexagon tile on the floors and dark gray/black veining on the elongated subway tiles make this shower stand out. Complete with a bench, a rainfall shower head, a regular shower head, AND a hand wand. After moving the shower we were able to make a large, custom closet (just awaiting carpet).

We recently finished this landscape design and installation project in the Tanglewood neighborhood of Houston, Texas. Our client, a Louisiana native who loves entertaining and wanted to stay connected to her NOLA roots, desired a space that could comfortably accommodate 30+ guests on a regular basis.
We deliberately designed the outdoor kitchen without a cover to preserve the view of the magnificent oak trees. Our aim was to create a kitchen that is both durable and visually appealing. The countertop is made of leathered granite, a material that can withstand the unpredictable Texas weather. All the appliances, including the grill, refrigerator, sink, and double side burner, were locally sourced and are made of stainless steel. Additionally, we utilized Austin limestone, which was quarried right here in Texas.
To infuse a touch of New Orleans charm into the backyard, we incorporated a fountain. The surrounding black star gravel was designed as a versatile space that can be used for additional dining, seating, or even as a meditation area.
To ensure privacy and shade as the plants mature, we strategically planted Eaglestone Holly and Japanese Yew along the fence line. Completing the landscape, we selected Amerishade grass for its excellent shade tolerance.

DuraSupreme cabinetry in the Cherry "Peppercorn" finish paired with Cambria Quartz in the "Galloway" design. KitchenAid's Black Stainless Steel appliances and Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring complete the look in the remodeled Betendorf IA kitchen by Village Home Stores.

With a single-product solution, the cabin now had an attractive deck surface with plenty of dry storage below!
Often, high maintenance decks on vacation properties are neglected because valuable vacation time is better spent on leisure, not on the high maintenance, time-consuming task of sanding, staining and sealing. If waterproofing is not addressed regularly and water damage weakens the structure, cabin owners can lose a whole season and a lot of money if a complete rebuild of the deck is required.

There were to many disjointed spaces in the existing Eichler home, and the owners didn’t like entering right into the kitchen wall. There were not enough functional spaces in the house but it was tricky to see how or where to add to the home without losing the atrium. The Klopf team re-arranged the spaces in the house to put the bedroom functions under the flat, 8-foot ceiling and the whole great room under the higher gable roof, moving the kitchen to the corner and creating a symmetrical and regular-shaped great room. A narrow band of skylights and a reduced, but still open, atrium brighten the family’s days and bring more greenery into their lives. The Klopf team turned the small front bedroom into a laundry room, powder room, and hallway to a large, added work-from-home office/family room that can double as a guest room. From the street the addition looks like it might have been there all along, but for the family members it’s a game-changer.

This 1949 South Minneapolis home had an underutilized, unwelcoming basement with old, dark paneling in the family room, and an unfinished laundry, storage and work shop area. Headroom was at a premium because of low hanging duct work, plumbing and gas lines.Castle Building & Remodeling transformed this basement by creating a much more welcoming, well-lit and functional family room, with an added egress window, built-in storage units and a media area with a flat screen TV. Duct work and piping in the unfinished half of the basement was raised or consolidated to give adequate headroom for a bright and spacious new laundry area.
A new 3/4 bath completes the package, along with a built-in linen cabinet in the finished hallway. Storage areas were consolidated in separate areas of the basement with their own access doors.
The family now eagerly uses the basement space as a regular part of their home, no longer dreading the trip down to the ‘cellar’.

This kitchen was a complete gut renovation. The 1970s home layout was slightly modified to offer a more open floor plan to this young family. Regularly hosting friends and family in their home, the design features a large island with seating, as well as plenty of room between the main wall and the island for easy movement when there are multiple chefs in the kitchen!
The cabinets are from Scavolini in three colors and finishes; the base units and oven and refrigerator units are in a textured decor door in humus oak, the uppers in light grey glossy lacquer flank the stainless steel chimney hood. The elegant pop of color is on the pantry wall of full height larder units in matte tempered glass in baltic blue.
Dark gray textured stone is used as the counter tops and run up the back splash for a clean look. Up-cycled pendants in bright white are used over the island.

Craftsman style house opens up for better connection and more contemporary living. Removing a wall between the kitchen and dinning room and reconfiguring the stair layout allowed for more usable space and better circulation through the home. The double dormer addition upstairs allowed for a true Master Suite, complete with steam shower!

The main requirement for the ideal architectural image is the regularity of its construction for a clear perception of the viewer. Architectural firm in Dubai Luxury Antonovich Design always perfectly fulfills the aesthetic tasks of rhythmic construction of buildings. This harmonization of certain elements of the building brings them to a certain unity. To make the composition of completion is the concentration of a number of elements in the corners of the volume (pilasters, ledges, niches). Calm rhythm of façades, perfect solutions in classic and modern design are continued by a beautiful interior decoration.

This expansive and stunning home was in need of a complete kitchen overhaul. It had not been touched since the home had been built in the 1990's. Our clients entertained large groups on a regular basis and the lady of the house wanted a fully appointed kitchen which encouraged visitors to watch from the sidelines. The pre-existing, Brazilian Cherry wood floors inspired the wood-stained island. The white perimeter cabinets lent to keeping the space feeling open and bright. Features such as the large kitchen sink and accompanying bar sink, ample countertop square footage, and a larger than normal work triangle, created the option for multiple cooks or caterers at one time if necessary.

The scope of this master bath project was a complete remodel (to the studs) to exceed the expectations of both users. The clients loved their home of more than twenty years and did not want to downsize. Instead they chose to upsize their home by remodeling to meet their personal needs and style. The objective of the project was to reimagine all possibilities/layouts for the space, gain as much storage possible, and create a room that functioned for both the husband and wife. The bathroom had not been designed or styled in 30 years and functioned poorly. By listening to the clients’ needs, it was important to keep the tub. The husband used it on a regular basis for relaxation from his hectic schedule as a neonatal doctor. Unlike some that remove their tubs and opt for one large shower, it was vital to keep this feature of the bathroom, albeit with more “bells and whistles.”

This job demonstrates how seamlessly the works we do with natural stones can blend with complex living spaces such as your kitchen. The backlit onyx piece serves as a backsplash that has become an art piece and completely transforms the kitchen from a regular space within your home into a stunning area that inspires awe.

Call Today and begin our process:
First, we cover any questions you have over the phone. Usually we can give you a close approximation of what you are likely to spend on your kitchen by simply asking you a few important questions.
