A refined entry moment at The Residences at The St. Regis Jakarta sets the tone for the home with understated luxury. A slender brass-and-wood console, sculptural ceramics, and a jewel-like statement mirror create a beautifully composed vignette—warm, sophisticated, and thoughtfully layered.

The clubhouse amenity area includes a contemporary swimming pool with a wall fountain, pool house, cabanas & summer kitchens. The Village Green is composed of a series of inter-connected themed gardens including a native garden, formal garden, sculpture garden & Koi-pond garden.

This home in Napa off Silverado was rebuilt after burning down in the 2017 fires. Architect David Rulon, a former associate of Howard Backen, known for this Napa Valley industrial modern farmhouse style. Composed in mostly a neutral palette, the bones of this house are bathed in diffused natural light pouring in through the clerestory windows. Beautiful textures and the layering of pattern with a mix of materials add drama to a neutral backdrop. The homeowners are pleased with their open floor plan and fluid seating areas, which allow them to entertain large gatherings. The result is an engaging space, a personal sanctuary and a true reflection of it's owners' unique aesthetic. Inspirational features are metal fireplace surround and book cases as well as Beverage Bar shelving done by Wyatt Studio, painted inset style cabinets by Gamma, moroccan CLE tile backsplash and quartzite countertops.

Nature is omnipresent and ingrained in every fiber of the home, not just through the thoughtful integration of interior and exterior spaces and placement of openings that highlight the surrounding views, but in the selection of materials that the interior is composed of—blond oaks with minimal protective finish preserving the inherent essence of wood, bespoke hand-finished metals that patina over time and exude that wabi-sabi quality of imperfect perfection, plasters that have been hand molded into sculptural shapes of colossal proportions (main fireplace), natural stones whose leathered surface only becomes more burnished and warmer to the touch, organic fibers and hand-woven rugs.

2025: Closeup of the PurePave paving, composed of granite embedded in a weather-proof but water-permeable resin, here surrounded by concrete pavers. The permeability of the PurePave paving depends on the gravel bed underneath, through which rainwater percolates extremely rapidly. The PurePave technology is extremely rugged (tested in climates like Canada's). This is how it looks in 2025, having survived the deep freeze and thaw cycle of the Canadian winter and spring. It's offered in an attractive selection of colours to complement every house colour and landscape, and in two options: one for pedestrians (patios/walkways) and one for vehicular traffic.

Custom arched panels and perforated brass sconces create a repeating architectural rhythm along the sunroom wall. The geometric inlay pattern, dark wood framing, and warm metallic lighting were composed as integrated design elements, connecting the wall treatment with the layered ceiling and seating niche beyond.

Craig Bergmann Landscape Design was commissioned to design a garden for an avid collector of fine Asian antiquities. Nestled among a woodland setting, the garden was created to complement an array of fine sculpture and relics. A plant palette primarily composed of shade loving perennials and shrubs, plants were chosen to be reminiscent of Asian flora. Photography by Linda Oyama Bryan

Inspiration for a contemporary bathroom remodel in Vancouver

This relief tile cornice is composed of 8"h x 8"w hand painted stoneware relief tile and wraps around the bathroom for 45 linear feet. Ebonized oak cabinetry houses much of the kitchen’s storage; its detailing echoes the screens seen elsewhere but here the wood was wire-brushed to highlight its graining. The kitchen island is composed of cabinets clad in an Italian laminate that closely matches the slab atop.

The front elevation is composed with crisp symmetry, painted brick and muted green shutters, while the sculpted dormer and warm wood entry lend the traditional architecture a more distinctive, tailored character.

The pleasure of rising with the sun and witnessing the sunset in one’s own bed is yet another amazing architectural highlight of Villa Costera. Leather, glass, and metal are some of the main elements that compose this space. Sarah chose gray tones to not just serve fashionably but functionally. The residence’s field of vision would begin with the rug upon entering the room, then be led up to the curtains, and finally the astonishing coastal view.
