This family home is an example of a modern design filled with natural light and building blocks comprised of sustainable material – in this case wood, one of the if not the most strategic material of Slovenia . It's definitely not a typical prefabricated house out of catalogue as we tried to develop a residence that meets the needs of modern users while having functional floor plans and contemporary elegant exterior all appropriately settled into its landscape.
Main concept presents three volumes that are placed in a triangular composition partially overlayed with a rectangular form of the upper floor. While the dynamic shape of the groundfloor is covered with a flat roof, the 1st floor is completed with a gable –like roof, echoing the traditional architecture of the house's surroundings.
While we enter into an open spacious and dynamically shaped groundfloor we discover a pleasant intimate ambience. The living room and dining area offer a lot of natural light through the large glazed window surfaces. A prominent staircase leads us to the upper sleeping area that consists of the main bedroom with its own dressing room and a bathroom and children's rooms with a smaller bathroom.
Despite groundfloor's dynamic shape, its façade is monochrome - predominately a clean white surface in combination with bigger windows. On the contrary the simple form of the upper floor has a boldly designed façade - a combination of dark colour shades and natural larch wood’s textures.
Wood is the basic structural element and at the same time complements the facades, window frames, while also dominating the interiors.

The exterior is comprised of Old Carolina Brick, NuCedar shake shingles, lap siding, louvered ground floor walls, white oak exterior doors and terracotta chimney pots. Exquisite landscaping with porcelain paver hardscapes, finish out this unique property.
Elite Landscaping OmahaIn the back of this estate just outside of Omaha, Nebraska, Elite Landscaping designed a custom concrete swimming pool with a covered pool house and 360-degree, negative-edge spa.
The pool house features an outdoor kitchen and bar area, which rests on posts that adjoin the raised pool wall. The pool house was built as an exact architectural match to the house, from the stucco, to the cedar decking beams, down to the paint color. This covered outdoor entertaining area provides a shady spot in the afternoons, where guests can lounge on four in-pool, swim up bar stools. The rest of the pool remains in full sun. The sunken swim-up bar is adorned with glass tile accents, and the pool wall features natural stone. Oversized, UniLock bluestone pavers comprise the pool deck and patio.
The unique negative-edge spa sits above the pool, and was designed so one half of the spa flows into the pool while the other half flows back into the landscaping. The entire poolscape is automated by a Pentair IntelliTouch system that runs off of a smartphone or other device. With the touch of a button, the homeowners can adjust pool and spa temperatures, change water flow speed, program the FX color-changing LED lights, and even test the pool chemistry.

Southernwood HomesThis charming three-car garage home in Commerce, GA, boasts an exterior adorned with shake and vertical siding, accentuated by handsome stonework. The entryway welcomes with an inlaid ceiling and slate pavers.
Stepping inside, the formal dining room awaits on the right, adorned with a craftsman woodwork tray ceiling and recessed paneling on the lower half of the walls. The expansive great room, featuring a two-story vaulted ceiling, showcases a stone fireplace flanked by built-in cabinets and shelves, complemented by a uniquely shaped arched window that floods the room with natural light. Flowing seamlessly from the great room is the kitchen, boasting stylish gray modern cabinets, white stone countertops, and brushed stainless steel appliances. GARY DUFF DESIGNS,LTDThis basketball court is part of a project completed by Gary Duff Designs which secured and strengthened this home’s existing old-world charm. By building on the original color palette comprised of beautiful reds and browns, the team incorporated natural stones to enhance the look. The renovated walkway can now be summed up in one word: classic. The new and beautiful courtyard was completed by a flowing fountain as the focal point. Fun finishing touch: a basketball half-court with the same beige coloring, because even the most elegant backdrops deserve some whimsy.

UserLavender makes a statement in every aspect of design and functionality. As you enter the front door of the home you are immediately engulfed by the covered lanai which runs the entire length of the home. It’s bordered by a uniquely shaped swimming pool and connecting pool deck. A casita with en-suite bathroom is separated from the main residence but is connected to the home through the lanai. The great room spans 31’-8” in length and is bordered by the uniquely designed arched kitchen and arched island. The great room has two sets of 90 degree floor to ceiling, fully retractable and hidden glass doors which open completely allowing for the seamless interaction between the interior and the exterior lanai. SV DesignWhat began as a renovation project morphed into a new house, driven by the natural beauty of the site.
The new structures are perfectly aligned with the coastline, and take full advantage of the views of ocean, islands, and shoals. The location is within walking distance of town and its amenities, yet miles away in the privacy it affords. The house is nestled on a nicely wooded lot, giving the residence screening from the street, with an open meadow leading to the ocean on the rear of the lot.
The design concept was driven by the serenity of the site, enhanced by textures of trees, plantings, sand and shoreline. The newly constructed house sits quietly in a location advantageously positioned to take full advantage of natural light and solar orientations. The visual calm is enhanced by the natural material: stone, wood, and metal throughout the home.
The main structures are comprised of traditional New England forms, with modern connectors serving to unify the structures. Each building is equally suited for single floor living, if that future needs is ever necessary. Unique too is an underground connection between main house and an outbuilding.
With their flowing connections, no room is isolated or ignored; instead each reflects a different level of privacy and social interaction.
Just as there are layers to the exterior in beach, field, forest and oceans, the inside has a layered approach. Textures in wood, stone, and neutral colors combine with the warmth of linens, wools, and metals. Personality and character of the interiors and its furnishings are tailored to the client’s lifestyle. Rooms are arranged and organized in an intersection of public and private spaces. The quiet palette within reflects the nature outside, enhanced with artwork and accessories.
Home Expressions Interiors by Laura Bloom Inc.This client wanted their Terrace Level to be comprised of the warm finishes and colors found in a true Tuscan home. Basement was completely unfinished so once we space planned for all necessary areas including pre-teen media area and game room, adult media area, home bar and wine cellar guest suite and bathroom; we started selecting materials that were authentic and yet low maintenance since the entire space opens to an outdoor living area with pool. The wood like porcelain tile used to create interest on floors was complimented by custom distressed beams on the ceilings. Real stucco walls and brick floors lit by a wrought iron lantern create a true wine cellar mood. A sloped fireplace designed with brick, stone and stucco was enhanced with the rustic wood beam mantle to resemble a fireplace seen in Italy while adding a perfect and unexpected rustic charm and coziness to the bar area. Finally decorative finishes were applied to columns for a layered and worn appearance. Tumbled stone backsplash behind the bar was hand painted for another one of a kind focal point. Some other important features are the double sided iron railed staircase designed to make the space feel more unified and open and the barrel ceiling in the wine cellar. Carefully selected furniture and accessories complete the look.
